I'm thinking about adding Tepanyaki to my ADR's for a couple of reasons. One, we need another TS dinner and I was thinking I may try to book that for the CP if offered because I figure most people are going for Le Cellier. I already have a great ressie for Le Cellier one evening so unless I get another one to couple with the CP and then I could go back and cancel my first one, I'll just use another restuarant that night. Anyway, what do you guys think about Tepanyaki? We love Japanese restaurants, but I noticed they have steamed rice and I like fried rice. Does anyone know if they do that? Also, do they have shrimp sauce? I have to have that on my rice. Just a couple of questions that will help me make up my mind! By the way, if anyone has any pictures, that would be helpful also. Thanks.

We loved Teppanyaki. WHen is your trip? You do know it is closed til the end of August? I think it is just steamed rice, I thought fried rice was chinese, but the food has so much flavour and it is cool the way it is prepared right in front of you. We are upset that we can't go back because it is being refurbed while we are there. If it is open for your trip, do it!

We are going in November so it will be reopened. The Japanese places we usually go to they put the rice on the grill and cook it so that's what I'm talking about. Maybe that's not called fried rice, but I didn't think it would be referred to as steamed rice, either. Anyway, thanks for your response and sorry you'll have to miss it! What about shrimp sauce? I saw they have ginger, but I have to know about shrimp. You know, it's a pale color, you can use it on salad or other things.

They do steamed rice and noodles - they have the seafood sauce it's a yellowish/orange color - is that it?

We love Teppanyaki. The food and service has been fantastic the two times that we have had dinner there. We spent my birthday dinner there May 06. There is nothing bad that I can say about this restaurant, has to be one of our favorites.

When they take your order I think they ask you if you want white or fried rice. The fried is made on the grill with eggs, soy sauce and veggies and is a bit more $.

That's the type of rice I like. I love to smother it in the shrimp sauce:love:
Thank you everyone for helping me find out if they have everything I like. I think I may see if we can get a reservation now!!

We love Teppanyaki and we are really sad that it's closed during our trip this year. We eat there every trip.

I wouldn't worry about the white rice. There is so much food and I usually just add some rice to my plate of grilled veggies. Our favorite is the shrimp and scallops meal (Seto). There are noodles that they serve with it to. I like the mustard type sauce for the seafood and chicken.

It's so good here!

This place is one of my favorites! We go every time we're at Epcot. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the food. If you like Japanese Hibachi food, then you really can't go wrong here.

I just had to laugh when I saw your post, because we're doing the opposite. We originally were going to do Teppanyaki with our CP, and then decided we'll go with Le Cellier! :rotfl: Hopefully, we'll both get what we want. :goodvibes

We had Teppenyaki with our CP package and we were able to put it on the dining plan. It was great! The food, the mood, the chef's show, and it's right next to the American pavilion where CP is held, so no rushing to the line. We were able to sit in the front row at CP and got great pics

A summary from our visit last Oct:

- No fried rice, only steamed white rice
- No shrip sauce that I saw
- two sauces were available - a sweet soy/teriyaki type, and a spicy/sweet mustard sauce
