Hello all, I am in the process of planning a trip to WDW in December 2018...... I know it is little ways off, but I love planning the trip and this will be the longest trip we have taken so far.

Looking to go Thursday Nov. 29- Fri Dec. 7th. Hopefully staying at the Poly and we would be getting a six day pass (not sure on the park hopper or not, but might go with it just on the chance we want to pop into MK in the evening). It will be me, my DW and DD, who will be a little over 4.5 at the time of trip.

Tentative plan:

Thursday Nov 29-- Arrival day, nothing planned here except dinner at Ohana
Friday Nov 30 -- PPO Breakfast at Epcot, and then spend a half of day going to various attractions in future world, plan is to be back at the the hotel by 1 or 2pm.
Saturday Dec 1 -- hit HS most likely only a half day (DD doesn't like Star Wars), so be there for rope drop, and try and be home by 1 or 2pm.
Sunday Dec 2 -- this is the tricky part of planning, try to plan for an event that may or May not happen, I am talking about EMM. Usually held on Sunday and Tuesday. Hopefully hit EMM and hang around the MK until around 3 and then head out before MVMCP starts.
Monday Dec 3-- late start at Epcot ( plan on having a 1:00-2:00 lunch somewhere, to get tickets for candlelight processional). Spend the afternoon after lunch going around the world showcase and hearing the Christmas stories from various countries and maybe visit a princess or three for my DD. Plan to leave after the candlelight procession and dinner in Italy and be out before Illuminations, (daughter isn't a huge fan of fireworks, and we could watch fireworks from the Poly beach if we wanted to)
Tuesday Dec 4 -- Resort day....rest up and rejuvenate, maybe stroll some of the other resorts looking at Christmas decorations
Wednesday Dec 5-- Animal Kingdom. Rope Drop. I don't think my daughter really cares about Avatar, so just stroll through there and hit the other attractions at AK. Hopefully home by 3-4pm.
Thursday Dec 6 -- MK and MVMCP. (Also our 10 year anniversary). Plan would be to get to MK sometime after lunch and hit a few attractions before the party starts. Stay as late as my daughter can handle it.
Friday Dec 7 -- depart for home in the early afternoon.

Is this too ambitious with a 4.5 year old? Our trips in the past was at max 5 days (3 park days) and we would take an afternoon break. Would love to only have three park days before our "off" day but with wanting to hit up EMM and then also have MVMCP as our last day, and our anniversary, four days straight just seemed to work better. It also puts our rest day right after a "late" night at Epcot.

Thoughts?

I don't think this is too ambitious with a 4.5 year old, if you have a stroller! My DD would've needed one anyway. I do think you should try the NRJ in Pandora. Also try to work in some time at WS for the Kidcot Stations and/or Agent P's. My DD loves those activities, they're always a highlight of our trip.

Good chance ToyStory land will be open by your trip, so Studios may turn into a whole or split day with break in the middle.

Hoping it is open by that time, so it might push us back on our time, but we will not be closing down the park.

Definetly using a stroller! I like the ideas of the kiddot stations. Will have to plan them in.

I believe it's expected to open around Memorial Day, it will be open by the time you go.

I think your trip sounds quite relaxed - not too much for a 4.5yo.

Evenings can be tiring at that age though. Our kids had a 6:30 bedtime at home and couldn't stay awake much past 7!

I agree with PPs that it's not too much for a 4.5 year old.

The only thing that I see that I would consider switching up is your Dec. 6 MVMCP day. If you're already planning on arriving to MK after lunch anyway, why not save the extra $ and get a 5 day ticket? I know it's not a huge price jump between 5 and 6 days, but it seems a bit frivolous to get the extra day for just a couple hours when you've got the whole afternoon, into the evening there on top of having a had a whole day at MK a few days earlier. Maybe take a swim that morning or go for a stroll around Disney Springs and have a nice TS lunch before heading to MK for 4pm arrival? Just a thought!

Hey, we'll be there part of the time together! I think your plan looks great for a 4.5 yo. If she isn't a fan of the fireworks, you could always see if she will wear noise reducing or cancelling headphones. My niece wears them at Disney a lot, for her sensory issues. Don't know if your DD is a napper or not (one of mine was and the other wasn't), but make sure the stroller you use reclines, even just a little, so she can chill out while she's riding. We let my niece (who is older but looks much, much younger) pick out some decorations to pin/clip onto the stroller--that way she is in "control" of her ride and doesn't think she's a baby. :flower1: It's her "chariot."

I was about to tell you your dates were off. Didn't realize you said 2018. I'm going this year 11/27-12/7 so was comparing to my schedule. Lol.

Thanks for everyone's input. Will definetly have to look at the noise canceling earphones. I think the first night we are going to try and watch the fireworks from the beach on the poly and see what she thinks.

Jinxed, what are your travel dates and do you have a proposed planned yet?
