Tentative Dining Plan...What Do You Think?

My DH and I are planning a trip for June 21-25 of next year...we're staying in a studio at BWV. We're planning to get the DDXDP, and use 2TS credits on each of the four nights to eat at signature restaurants. We're also planning 3 TS lunches in the parks, and we'll use our last meal credit fot a TS breakfast the morning we leave. I'm planning to use most of our snack credits to get baked goods that we can keep in the room for quick and easy breakfasts.

For our park lunches, I'm looking at 50's Prime Time at DHS and Liberty Tree Tavern at MK. I'm a little more undecided about EPCOT. I was thinking about trying one of the Italian restaurants...both are new since our last visit in 2007.

Dinners are causing me more of a problem...I can't seem to make up my mind!:confused3 I know we want to eat at Flying Fish, and one of Citrico's, Narcossee's, or California Grill. Should we do one dinner in a park? Hollywood Brown Derby or Le Cellier? I also thought about trying Yachtsman, but I can't decide!

For our TS breakfast I thought we'd just eat at Kouzzina since it's right at the Boardwalk, and we'll need to be on the road by about 9:00.

We'll have a car, and I don't mind driving to another resort for dinner, but I also like the convenience of all the restaurants near the Boardwalk, and just being able to walk to dinner.

If you've eaten at these restaurants, do you recommend them, or do you have other suggestions. The only two we've eaten at are HBD (loved it!), and 50's, but 50's was so long ago I barely remember it.

We loved both Narcoosee's and Yachtsman's during our trip in June. I would definitely eat at both places again. Our server at Yachtsman's (Samir) was amazing! :thumbsup2

Glad you enjoyed Yachtman. We did not like it at all. Great service but very bland steak and I wanted to love this place so much, was really looking forward to this place. We got a much better steak at Flying Fish....I know steak at a fish place...wrong...but it was so good!!!!

We did a similar trip last year and our top picks were (No special order):

1. Flying Fish
2. Jikos
3. Narcoosee
4. Le Cellier
5. California Grill

Thanks! I think based on everything I've read, Narcoossee's and Flying Fish are definites. I'm a little hesitant on Le Cellier just because of the conversion to a 2 Credit restaurant...I'm not sure they'll have menu information before I have to make ADRs. I don't know if the menu will change substantially, or if the 2TS change is just an attempt to capitalize on the popularity of the restaurant.

Hi, AggieTexan!

-Class of 07, here!

My hubby and I had Yachtsman's on our honeymoon night in 09 and loved it! Their au gratin potatoes were awesome! The atmosphere of the restaurant was great too, but it may be because we had the honeymoon table and got to see some of the higher fireworks from EPCOT.

We also had Le Cellier, and it was good. Our favorite thing there was the pretzel bread sticks. The cheese soup was OK, but not what I had imagined and what a lot of people claimed it was craked up to be. We also went at night, so the "cellar" was dark and nothing to sneeze at. The steak was good.

Believe it or not, the best steak we had was at Downtown Disney at Planet Hollywood!

The other pleaces we dined at were Character Experiences, believe it or not, and I don't know if you are wanting to experience those. We also only had the regular DP and this year we are getting the DDP.

Of the Character Experiences, Chef Mickeys is the best as far as food quality and options.

Crystal Palace was great for the characters, but mediocre flavor of food.

Cape May Cafe was good too, but I don't think I would go back again.

Whatever your choices, enjoy!

I second the Jiko suggestion mentioned above. Cali grill would be my next choice.

Aggie Fan, we just returned from a trip and utilized White Hollow Travel's dining reservation concierge. They did a custom plan for us and secured all of our reservations.

I finally made up my mind!

Lunches in the parks will be at 50's Prime Time, Liberty Tree Tavern, and Via Napoli.

All four dinners will be at signatures at the resorts -- Jiko, Cali Grill, Flying Fish, and Citrico's. Thanks again to everybody who gave their opinion!:)

You might consider Kona Cafe at the Poyl for lunch. Liberty Tree Tavern is great. I would suggest Yatchsman for a great Dinner.
