Are the only loops available the 1500 and 2000? Am I understanding that right?

Which loop might be better to request and why? Should we consider the extra expense to stay in a preferred loop? We are currently booked for the basic site.

1500/2000 are specified tent pop up loops and are slightly cheaper than a preffered because those two loops lack dump hook up. 1500 loop has a small # of sites available and are smaller in measurement but they are also right next to the meadows pool/store/bike barn/sign along. The 2000 loop is further away but a larger loop and larger sites. Both have their advantages so it really depends on what your after. Because 1500 is the preferred tent loop it is also tougher to get even when requesting it.

We have two small children 4 & 6 and have stayed in 1800 loop with our RV and it was very quiet but no collaborated play between children in other sites within the same loop. 1500 is loud on the weekends and 2000 is the same but you also have children running around playing with other children and having the time of their life. Tents and pop ups get kids out and playing more so than TTs & RVs. Plus we vaca in Jauary where there is more of an older crowd, more snow birds and less children than say in summer time. So factor that in too.

What is a good loop for one family might not be for another.

Pros and cons on any of the loops: I tent camped in the 400 loop several years ago and it was great being close to the boat dock but it was loud early in the morning, think: 5 am, with the various delivery trucks arriving at the settlement area. Ear plugs would have helped but I wasn't anticipating needing them so didn't have any :).

We like 2000 loop because it is a little more secluded and wooded. The pads are also slightly larger. Any loop at the Fort is great. Enjoy your stay.

It seemed like 1500 would be best for location because of the pool but I am also wondering if we don't get it, is there a faster way to get from the 2000 loop to the boat launch area besides following that main road around? We are planning to bring our bikes and were hoping we can just ride to the boat launch area? Is there a place there to lock them up for the day?

Also are the loops equal as far as access to the comfort station. Our kids aren't super young but young enough they need a restroom fairly close while camping.

There is a path at the back of the 2000 loop that takes you to the group sites. Once at the group sites, you will find a path that takes you over a bridge into the 900 loop. That should cut some travel time for you. While I haven't used this method, I've seen it talked about on a number of threads.

We always stay in 2000 and have used our bikes, it is not that far of a ride to any where in the Fort. Yes, there are bike racks by the pool, trading post, boat dock and others. There is a path in the back of the loop, as dance mom said, but it is a little "off road" so just be aware. In 2000 there are two comfort stations, since it is larger. But it is not a far walk from any of the sites in either loop.

Mom,

With the new My Disney Experience (MDE), you can do online checkin within 60 days of your real arrival. And you can specify requests like "close to a Comfort Station" and Disney will do the best they can to meet your request based on the type of site you reserved and the empty sites available on your checkin day. Here is a thread I started about the MDE online checkin where you can accomplish this:

I do think that both loops have their pros and cons. We stayed in 2000 and we did find the location kind of inconvenient. The shortcut path does help but it is partially unpaved and if it rains it would become a muddy, swampy mess in areas. The full length ride was pretty long especially after a long day or late after the movie. Plus, if you didn't want to ride/walk from the pool area, it required two buses to get back. However, we spent 5 days and never took a bus:). Bikes everywhere.

As for the comfort stations, we were right next to the group area so their bathroom was right there and SUPER convenient. This comfort station also had a big dishwashing sink and there were ton of kids to play with. I did find that the first comfort station as you entered the loop only had handicap height toilets in the ladies room. For a shortish woman, I found this uncomfortable.

all this is just nit picking because it is such a well designed campground that getting anywhere on nice paths is very easy and the bathrooms are well located so even the little kids had no problems (and a kid with tummy problems!). We will be there in about a week and CANT WAIT!!!!

Thank you everyone for your input. We have plenty of time to decide what request we will make so will be thinking about the pros and cons of both.
