Tent camping?

My family likes to go tent camping alot but we've never camped at Fort Wilderness. Is it possible to tent camp there in January or Febuary? we can't go in the spring or summer because of mosquito bite allergies. I have 3 boys who seem to take bathroom breaks alot so I don't want to be to far from a bathroom. Are there plenty of bathroom/showers there? Also we have a HUGE tent, are their campsites big enough for a large tent and small screen gazebo? I know we want a site with water and electricity. Any advice or tips??

One of mine and hubby's favorite trips to Disney with the kids was camping at FW in November 2007! You will love it there!!

We just went tent camping with our kids in January. The only problem we had was our second night there it rained and rained and rained some more! Our tent at the time was almost 20 years old, so even with fresh water proofing it do not do so well. But other than that, it was all good.

There are two bathrooms in the main loop that tents are set up in and are well situated for quick access from the sites. We had a fairly large tent, a small personal tent and a canopy tent over the picnic table, so yes the sites are fairly decent sized. We are going again in November with an even bigger tent (20 feet long and 11 feet wide this time) so I can tell you more after that trip how well a really big tent fits.

Ugh. I had to see what all the hubbub was about and tracked that thread down. I got disgusted with the crazy, judgmental, just-downright-mean replies about page 4 and ran screaming back here to the camping board.

What-The-Fort is wrong with people these days??

All of the sites at FW, including the partial hook-up (tent) sites, have water, electric, and cable TV.

We tent camp in Jan and Feb and we love it at that time. We use electric blankets and a small space heater in the tent at night to keep warm. We also have a screen room and our 17x10 tent fit fine on each site we have been put at (we are usually in the 2000 loop). When you make your reservation, request to be close to a comfort station. We have always been real close if we asked which is wonderful for those middle of the night potty runs for the little ones. Have a great time.
