we sold are 33 foot moterhome.we love to camp.so we stay in a tent.my mom does not lke it.she says she cant sleep.are there any tips that can help her.

Try cots & good air mattresses. I've been trying to get my wife to like camping for 35 years. I haven't succeeded yet so take my advice with a grain of salt. I usually throw down a thermal mat to keep me warm and that's it.

What he said...:thumbsup2

Not being able to sleep in the tent can be caused by other factors, such as:
1) Noisy campground
2) Feeling of insecurity
3) Too hot
4) Too cold
etcetera, etcetera.

Maybe these will help:

1) To help eliminate noise use one of those white noise machines, Walmart carries a good one which I think is called Sound Therapy. I use one when we cruise because of noisy kids running up and down the halls early in the morning and it never fails that our stateroom is almost always next to an elevator. But I think the white noise machine would work in a tent too.

2) Maybe she doesn't feel safe or maybe she's scared of the critters. These feelings of insecurity will diminish as she gets used to tenting...I would think.

3) For hot weather, use a fan.

4) For cold weather use a heater with an auto-shut off on tip-over.

Also, a fan or heater creates white noise too so that should help if noise is also a problem.

Ear plugs, eye mask, and sleeping pills:thumbsup2
Oh, and totally wear yourself out during the day so you've got no choice but to sleep.

I totally forgot about the eye mask. We are late sleepers and the masks are a lifesaver from that bright Florida sun. The Trading Posts sells a cute one with the Mickey hands covering your eyes. Those are what we bought. We don't camp anywhere without them now.

We had air mattresses, favorite blankets, and DVD players with favorite movies. You can get very comfortable air mattresses now.

go tarp crazy....when I'm tenting I hate to be wet and have my bedding wet. I make my dh over-do the tarp situation :hippie:
