Tent camping in January?

Has anyone tent camped in January at FW? Is it comfortable? I did a lot of tent camping as a child/teen and I remember really enjoying camping in the fall and spring (in Maryland) because it was just cool enough at night for a sleeping bag and campfire to feel nice. It seems like Fl in winter would be comprable, but I'm looking for input from people who have BTDT.

We will have two young kids with us (and we are definately doing a local trip first to make sure camping in general won't be a disaster for us before committing).

We haven't ever tent camped at FW in January, but we camped in our travel trailer at FW last month. The second part of our week was nice, but the first part was very cold. The low one night was 31 degrees, and the high during the day was a cold and windy 57 degrees. So, just be prepared for cold weather!
