Has anyone had any problems bringing a TENS unit either through airport security or into the parks?

You will have no problem at all with the parks, just tell them it is a medical device( if they even ask). Because this is not something that the TSA is likely to see every day then they may stop you and ask a lot of questions, but it still should OK once they understand it is a medical device. I would ask my doctor for a letter just in case there is a problem. You can also call your airline and have them make a note on your reservation that you will be bringing medical equipment. We do this with SW. They told us that each morning they notify TSA of any guest that have noted special needs.

Thanks for the advice. I'm leaving in 2 days so I can't get a note from my doctor, I should have thought to ask him sooner but didn't. But that's good to know that you can call the airline and they'll let TSA know as well, we're flying SW too so I'll be sure to do that.

I made sure to carry the owners manual for the TENS unit, which has a picture on the front of it, as well as a description for the unit. This helped verify to TSA that it is medical equipment. I also made sure to package it carefully (wrap the cords and such) so it didn't just look like a mess of electric wires. I also travelled with a power chair battery charger, so I knew my bags were going to be searched!

At the parks, no one has ever asked. If you keep it on your person (like on your belt - mine comes with a belt clip) they won't even know it is there! And if you tell them it is a medical device, you should be fine.

I have not had any issues taking it through airport security, but I do take out my batteries and lead wires and pack them in my checked baggage. That way if security looks at the unit, it doesn't look usable due to no batteries, etc... or suspicion of looking like a bomb detonator.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.
