We are back after 10 days at the CBR. (4 adults & 4 kids 8,7,5,3)
What a great time we had. No rain, mid 80's and sunny every single day! Here are some of the places we ate and what we thought...thanks for all the tips before we left!
Crystal Palace Breakfast - This was great. The characters really acted up and the food was good. My 7 years old skinny-mini ate 3 plates full of food and the rest of the trip went on and on how it was her favorite meal!!
Ohana's - we did this on Mother's Day and it was great. Tons of food and a great waiter. It turned into one big party as all the tables around us started talking to eachother and switching seats etc. We met a lot of fun people that night...a great time!
Chef Mickey's Dinner - this was really nice and fun characters. They were great with allergies. The chef was really nice walked me through the whole buffet and made a "special surprise dessert" just for me and brought it to the table and made a huge deal out of it and then stayed and talked for a while.
Boatwrights - Dh and I did dinner alone here and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was great, nice atmosphere and just a nice relaxing time. The crab cake app was really good and I had the jambalaya, dh had a seafood over pasta...both were good. We then had a great walk at dusk...very pretty.
Hoop De Doo - This was the BEST!! We all laughed so hard we were crying. The funniest thing was my cousin's dh talking to my dh saying how they both hate to be pulled into the spotlight. They are talking outside before it starts any my cousin's dh says they always pick on the person who looks away....well wouldn't you know it he's facing me just taking his first sip of coffee with his back to the stage and the girl comes right down pulls his chair in the spotlight and starts this whole joke, singing thing with him! It was hysterical!! Poor Guy!
Teppanyaki - We did this for lunch one afternoon and it was okay...the food was nothing to rave about but not bad. The kids thought it was great the way they cook in front of you and they even ate the whole thing with chopstix (better than dh and I)
The smaller places we went were~
Cosmic Ray's - This was just okay. The burgers were kind of McD-ish and for the price we could have done better.
Casey's Hot Dogs - we did this twice. Great hotdogs and fries, quick service...loved the guy playing piano outside.
Dole Whip-as good as everyone says...I had the float
Beaver Tails in Canada-perfect snack
France had great coffee and pasteries. It was so nice walking around and having a great cup of coffee in hand!
Mexico - Great Fiesta Margarita! Had these while watching Illuminations!
CBR Old Port Royale food court - everything here was good, we did veggies wraps, muffins, chix & FF, salads etc. They had these awsome Huge choc chip cookies with cream in between...these were my favorites and wanted to bring some home but they were out of them!
We also stayed in one night and ordered pizza and bread stix...the pizza was really good.
Also the bar by the pool had a great frozen drink called the Banana Cabana...Many of these showed up on our bills at the end of the trip!
I know we ate a lot more than that (as my waistline is now telling me
) But it was well worth it!!
