Tempted to book CR garden wing

I am tempted to book CR garden wing for our next stay in February 2014 but every time I look at availability to price it out there is NEVER availability...how soon do I have to book this to ensure I get it??? is there ever availability for discounts for the garden wings??

Couple of things here:

1) There are sometimes discounts for the garden wing, BUT because those rooms are less expensive than the tower, people tend to book them quickly (so since those rooms are filled, Disney doesn't need to discount them to fill them).

2) Have you tried playing with the dates for when you want to go? If one night of your stay is fully booked, it will show the whole stay as unavailable.

3) There might be a convention holding those rooms as part of their convention block.

I believe it's because it is 2014 and they haven't released those prices or dates for reservation. Does it give you a message about prices unavailable? That's what I get when I experiment for our 2014 trip. You can call and make a room only reservation to get the dates you want. Prices won't be out for awhile yet!

Until the 20114 prices are released, you will not be able to find ANY availability online for stays in 2014. But you can, as a PP stated, book a room only reservation for those dates by calling.

As for this year, as noted previoiusly, Garden wing rooms book up very quickly because they are less expensive. And since CR is a convention resort, it is highly likely that fairly large blocks of rooms have been held back for convention goers.

You can go to allears.net and find a price chart for the entire year here:

go about a third of the way down the page. You can find this for every resort (look at the nav on the left for a full list), much easier to figure out than Disney's website, that's for sure.

I don't know how long the trip is that you're trying to price, but if it's over any sort of holiday or typical school break time, or the summer, it could be all booked for this year. Shorter trips are usually easier to price than longer ones.

They may also have a lot of the garden wing rooms blocked off for conferences. You may not find availability until closer to your travel dates.

Yes, that means your chances of getting a discount ON THE GARDEN WING ROOMS are slim to none. If Disney is already filling those rooms at full price, then they don't have any reason to discount them. You likely could still get discounts on rooms in the tower at the Contemporary.

We are staying at the CR for a few nights the week before Christmas and all room categories are coming up for that time frame. I also plugged in dates of 12/10-12/13 (just random dates) and all room categories are coming up, with a garden wing GV room being $417/nt (2 adults). I'm not sure what pricing season those dates are, but for our dates (which is considered peak season), rack rate is $483/nt for garden wing GV. If you are going at the end of February, that is most likely peak season as rates go up around Presidents Day weekend and continue through spring break/Easter. At least these rates will give you somewhat of an idea of what you might be looking at, but as others have said, the garden wing rooms book up fast so if that's what you want, you might want to book as soon as the 2014 rates are released.
