Is there a huge difference between washable tempera paint and something like Crayola washable paint? DD1s teacher asked for tempera paint which looks to be closer to $10 but I would love to be able to just get the washable stuff (closer to $4). Either way I would get the washable stuff since it's for a kindergarten classroom.

If she asked for tempera then I would go with that. I'm not sure what the difference is but that is what we always use in the classroom. How much are you getting for $10? Can you get it at Michael's with a coupon?

I work at a preschool, we go through a lot of paint. For cost usually we get colorations brand, it is comparable to crayola at almost half the cost. My favorite brand though is Biocolor, if you can swing it go with that.
