Well - our plan never quite worked out as I ran out of time to get stuff organised.

She was at the hospital this morning for more blood tests and was starting to get upset so I found a little green organza bag and filled it with glitter. Then I came in from work with it, and her Tinkerbell toy and said that Tink had contacted me and asked if I could give her this special bag of pixie dust. Everytime she got scared or had to have bloods taken she had to hold tight onto the bag and think of Disneyland - because Tink said if she is a very brave girl she can go back to Disneyland in February!

Her face lit up and she just whispered "Disneyland? Are we going back?"

And it worked - she walked into the hospital like a big brave girl (we had to carry her kicking and screaming last week) with her bag of pixie dust and sat on my knee holding it tight; with her eyes closed saying "Disneyland! Disneyland!" when they took her bloods and then started to tell me about which rides she wanted to go on! (Not surprisingly Pirates/Peter Pan/Pinocchio).

Haven't told her which hotel - but when I asked her which one she said "The one with all the rooms!" Okay - so she'll be happy anywhere! :rotfl2:

We got a phonecall from the hospital an hour ago saying we need to increase her meds and take her back for more bloods - so I am going to start getting the gifts for her future visits!

Excited now! :cloud9::cheer2:princess::yay:

Rosebug with Tink and her pixie dust just after finding out:

Okay - we need to tell Rosebug about going to DLP in Feb - I want it to be the thing we can use to distract her when she is upset about hospital visits etc.

Ms Poppins suggested a small present to take away to coincide with blood tests; so thinking along these lines I thought it would be cool for a parcel to arrive (should have done this sooner - her next bloods are Monday) with an invite to DLP; and a lot of small wrapped gifts.

In the invite it will have a note from Merida saying that every time she is brave or fills her marble jar (her reward chart) she can choose a special present from the box which will be something small for her holiday and she then has to put it in her Tink suitcase.

But I will need quite a few small gifts...any ideas?

I thought:

* a personalised luggage tag for her suitcase
* new Disney towel
* new pj's
* Disney knickers & socks
* face cloth
* Disney toothbrush & paste
* Disney long sleeved tees

Any other ideas?

Thanks! :goodvibes

So very excited!:cheer2:

Some stickers, colouring book, disney magazine to read on the journey, a small purse, a few Euros

What about a lanyard and then new pins as little presents. We're getting one for daughter's Eurostar goodie bag.

Updated my first post!

Just read your update, bless her heart, if anyone deserves a magical trip to DLP Rosebug does. pixiedust:

aah bless her!! she is such a cutie! xx hope the future hospital visits go well xx

Thanks guys! It's working so far; we have talked about how she has to go back to the hospital and whilst she still begs us not to take her; she is happy to be distracted by DLP as a reward for being brave!

Although I had a horrible nightmare last night that we were given a really minging; dirty and broken down bedroom in the DLH! I woke up devastated! :rotfl2:

I'm sure your room at the DLH will be fab, just like the rest of the hotel.
We also found the CM to be so courteous & helpful. The year we were there it was March, the weather was really cold, it was great for nipping back to the room & taking DS to the playroom during the day so we could thaw out, lol. :goodvibes

I am sure it will be! It was such a bizarre dream; and I woke up feeling worse than if my husband had left me! :rotfl2:
