Telling kids about Santa

My DS#1 asked me about Santa. I told him that "as long as you believe you will get presents from Santa. If you don't believe, then no presents". I never heard another word. I even caught him talking DS#2 about Santa. He was telling him that Santa had to exist because mom and dad couldn't buy everything....that Santa always brings good stuff so he must exist etc. I think he was afraid that if his brother figured it out everyones presents would be done.lol

Last year (DS#2 was 9) the best thing happened. On Christmas morning the neighbor across the street was going somewhere....dressed as Santa. My sons saw him and thought he was the real Santa. He really believed last year and even called his friend next door to make sure he saw him too (his mom thanked me for that too!!!).

I still believe and still get Santa presents at my parents house too:rotfl2:

As long as you believe in Santa, he will believe in you so since I still believe, I still receive. It may not be gifts under the tree but there are a million other ways that the spirit of Christmas is given.
I am in no rush - I am not going to tell my kids anything. It is something for them to decide when & how they want to know things.
