Hi All,

My husband and I have a trip planned for This Thursday (2 days away!) to stay at Bay Lake Tower and I just found out I'm pregnant!! I really want to surprise him with the news when we get to Disney. The difficult thing is that we are not going to any parks on this trip-just dinner and hanging out at the resort/downtown disney. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make the moment I tell him more magical??

Thank you! :)

Congratulations!

This is not much of an idea, but one thing you could do is arrange for a welcome message on the room phone from one of the characters (or even in the lobby at the front desk), as in something done for a child's birthday. Have hubby listen to the message and when he says "This is a mistake", reply with something like "Not in a few months ..." :)

ETA: When I quoted "This is a mistake" above, I meant DH would think Disney made a mistake with the message, not the other kind of mistake. Sorry for not being clearer. :duck:

Maybe call the Disney Cake Hotline and have them make a cake of some sort that will be brought out after dinner? Or even your hotel room. =)

Congratulations! What about ears embroidered and delivered to the room and sitting on the bed. One with your name, one with your husband's name, and one with a ? embroidered on it. :)

:welcome: Welcome to the Dis and party: congratulations. When you get to the resort go to the gift shop while he is checking in. Buy 2 of the baby outfits there. I'd get one for a boy and one for a girl. When you get to the room, pull them out and ask which one he likes better. Then spend the rest of your time celebrating.

Since you don't mention other kids I assume this is the first? I would call the resort and see if there is a special gift you can order to have waiting in the room...not sure what he is into or would like, but you might have ideas...and have a note from you included with it to break the news.

Or, maybe wrap up a book of baby names as a gift and give it to him at dinner.

And congrats, enjoy every moment, being a parent is the toughest job, but also the most rewarding.

Have a bouquet of pink and blue balloons with a stuffed character holding them delivered to the room before check in so they will be waiting for you when he opens the door.

Congratulations!

I may be wrong, but I don't think that gifts, even those ordered through Disney Florist, will be placed into rooms before you have checked in.

Book one of the dinner shows and have the entertainers tell him! Congratulations.

I say go to Downtown Disney, when alone buy a couple baby things. Wait till that tethered balloon has no waiting line whatsoever (or ask the people working if you can have a moment alone with your husband to inform him you are pregnant). Wait till you get to the top and take your purchase out of the bag. :thumbsup2

Oh, Congratulations "MOMMY" :yay::banana::cool1:

How about contacting the front desk prior to your check-in and ask them to add some "I'm celebrating" pins to your welcome package?

I give this idea my vote, even if you only buy one unisex outfit.

Thank you everyone for all of the ideas! They are great!! I am thinking of combining a few of them.

I left a message on the cake hotline yesterday and am still waiting on a call back. Hopefully they will be able to do something on such short notice!! Called the resort reservation line and unfortunately didn't get very far there...told I could order balloons from floral shop but they wouldn't be delivered until we checked in. Plus they are pretty pricey-$35 for a few balloons-yikes!

Thank you again for all of the wonderfully creative ideas! :)

WDW Prep School has come up with customized button templates, so you can print them at home and have them pressed into the button pin for you at Kinko's or Staples, if I remember correctly. You can make one that says "We're Expecting!" (I especially like the Ariel w/Flounder one for this purpose):

Then when you go to leave for the parks or dinner or whatever, be like "I think we should wear our celebration buttons" and then hand him his.

I love this idea! Another suggestion would be to go to World of Disney (or any store...) and make a really elaborate show of picking our mouse ears for a child and wait for his reaction.

If you plan on going to the parks, get a photopass photographer in on it. Instead of saying "cheese," you should say "we're having a baby." Then you have photo evidence of his reaction.

Congrats! So excited for you! :)

Congratulations! How exciting!

Since you're staying at BLT, maybe you could go up to the Top of the World lounge and tell him up there during Wishes?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Soooo many great idea's!
I LOVE, LOVE this idea! Make sure you tell the photopass photographer so he knows to take several shots!

My idea is that you should get the restaurant you are going to the first night, have them make a special desert plate (like the Cinderella slipper desert) and have them do the writing on the plate that says "Congratulations Daddy" at the top and "We are having a baby" on the bottom!

I vote for personalized Mickey ears: Mommy, Daddy and Baby :) Congratulations!
Have these made without home seeing and delivered to your hotel. Then have him go down to pick them up from the gift shop. Tell him to make sure and check the size before coming back up. Be waiting by the gift shop door.
