This thread is inspired by the RUDE server thread. What about all the great servers at WDW?

I have 4 that really stand out.

1. Amelia at Chefs de France.

She was our server in 2005 and was exceptional. She figured out that I could speak a bit of french so she tried to speak with me throughout the evening. She was attentive without being on top of us. Her timing was great and our drinks were never empty. At the end of the meal she gave DMom & I perfume samples from the shop across from the restaurant. She was very sweet and memorable!

2. Patrick at Le Cellier

Being from Canada we tend to have fun at Le Cellier. Patrick was our server in 2007. He was from our province and teased me about my Drivers License (we have graduated licencing here and I only have stage "2" which is a full license with no tolerance for ANY alcohol, stage 3 allows you to have had 1 drink.)

He was fun, charming, had fantastic recommendations and was personable. I think I've heard other people on the boards talk about him.

3. Ron at Jiko

Our first experience with Jiko was Octover 2008 and while excited we were a bit hesitant, or perhaps intimidated by the exotic flavours. Ron put us immediately at ease. He recommended the ostrich, something we would never have considered, and it turned out to be our favorite appetizer of the evening. I ordered the filet and said that my favorite up until now was the Le Cellier Maple BBQ (R.I.P. :sad2: ). He said he was sure this one would top it. Halfway through our meal he returned to our table, looked at me and simply asked "So?" I couldn't help but laugh and agree that it was miles better! :thumbsup2

4. Ron at California Grill

Now there is some interesting back story to this server. In August 2007 we tried CG for the first time. Our reservation was towards the beginning of our 12day trip and we loved it so much that we managed to get another reservation later that trip. It was during our 2nd reservation that we met Ron. He was one of the best servers we've ever had! His timing was impecible. He added special touches, He was a joy to talk to and we have requested him ever since! :thumbsup2 In fact, I returned for a 3rd trip to CG during our Aud/Sept 2007 visit and the manager came over to thank me for visiting CG three times in 1 week! She actually delivered our sushi to our table :goodvibes

When we returned to CG in Aug 2008 and in Oct 2008 we had Ron as our server and we intend to request him in May 2009 and Sept 2009 :cloud9:

Bob at Trail's End. He's retired now but he was super nice and a great conversationalist. We found out that he actually used to live close to my inlaws (but they didn't know each other).

There is another guy at Trail's End (who'se name I can't remember right now) who is a much younger guy (I would say 20's) who is super sweet too.

We also had an awesome waitress at Crystal Palace during my son's 1st birthday. She was wonderful.

Ours isn't a server but a chef. My son has multiple food allergies and we always must talk to a chef before ordering.

Eddie at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. He was so awesome with my son and was so prepared to deal with us! He made my son his very first milkshake with rice dream! he could have had two if we allowed him to!!!!!!

It was his best dining experience from our last trip and he has requested to go back there again! I hope Eddie is working the day we visit!

Mine was Sayid at CRT. He was our waiter on my birthday and he was fantastic!

I'm going to sound like a jerk here, but the best servers we've ever had were Victoria, and Albert ! Unfortunately, if you know the restauant, you'll know that ALL the servers are either Victoria (females) or Albert (males). This particular pair had been a "team" for quite a while, and we were fortunate to have them on three different occasions. Not that, on the other occasions that we dined at the restaurant, the service was any less then excellent... it was just that this particular "team" was wonderful ! If I recall correctly, I believe that "Victoria's" real name was "Dianne", and "Albert's" real name was Ron.

Hands down was Brendan from Le Cellier in June 2008. Super nice, bonded with my FIL over his hometown in Canada, where my FIL goes to hunt. Brought small dipping bowls of cheese soup for bread dipping, even though we didn't order it, brought Tink clip ons for the kids and was patient and attentive through the entire process.

In retrospect after crunching DDP numbers, we weren't sure we tipped him enough. And by enough, I mean, the 30% that he earned! I wrote an email to Disney praising him and someone from guest services called back thanking me for my input and told me that it was most certainly shared with him.

It was our last night in the World with our party of 10 on our "family reunion" and it was a HUGE hit! What a nice evening!
