DH is giving me some money and sending me shopping for myself (by myself, he'll give me more money if he doesn't have to withstand the torture). Anyhow, I have only one pair of summer shoes that are not flip flops (can't wear those to work). I am trying to save them cause they are what I wore on our last DW trip so I know they are comfy. But he says I should get some summer shoes so I am wondering whether I should spend $30 on Crocs if I am perfectly fine with my Columbia sandals (or Tevas or whatever). I guess I am wondering how much do your feet sweat in them, would they keep mulch from getting between your toes and do they squeak when they get wet and you walk in them. TIA

I just got some mickey crocs for mothers day, from my mom.
I know this is silly but I am really excited to have a mickey tan on my feet this year instead of regular sandle tan!! LOL
Also, they will take to the water well like water shoes not like leather sandles that stretch out.
Besides that, I dont know.......

They squeak a little when you get them wet. My feet never sweat inside them since the have all the little holes in them. I've never had any problem with mulch but sometimes little pebbles will get in and I have to stop to get them out, not because they hurt or anything, more for the irritation factor LOL. And after breaking them in for a little while they are very comfortable. I wear them all the time. Hope this helps.

Blessed Be,
Tina

I have the Mary Jane- and while I like them- I wouldnt have spent $30 on them. I got mine from Dick's with a coupon code and google check out for around $20. I wore them at Disney and liked them- but I think they make your feet so dirty! The dirt gets in there and just sticks around because it cant get back out. Never had a blister or any hot spots- so they were good that way- but if you can get them cheaper, save your money for some great clothes! That's what you see in the pictures- not your feet!:thumbsup2

you don't NEED Crocs...but they are still nice to have!!! I found them perfect for AK day (Kali River is a lot nicer without squishy sneakers afterward). Plus I wear them around my house like slippers everyday. Definately get them online with a coupon code and google check out. I got mine for $18 on shoebuy last year and I had them the NEXT day.

...I just have to disagree about all day wear at WDW. I wore them for my day at AK in March. There was rain off and on for a good portion of the day, and I got some really icky blisters--in bizarre places, like on the outside of both little toes.

That said, I (and keep in mind I only own about 7 or 8 pairs of shoes total) still consider the crocs my favorite summer shoe after my Birks. I just try to make sure I keep my feet dry!

I love my crocs. I wore them all over Disney World and they were more comfortable than the sneakers I would wear on previous trips. I think they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. And I agree with the PP, buy them online you can save $10 or so. I got mine through Dick's Sporting Goods.

I got some Crocs intending to wear them on our WDW trip in December. I'm glad I tried them out beforehand because my plans ended up changing. I walked around in Las Vegas all day in my Crocs in October. It was a lot of walking! I ended up with a huge blister on the ball of my foot. I even wore thick socks with them and still got the blister. After that, I decided to wear my trusty sneakers to WDW. I had sore feet after all the days of walking, but no blisters to speak of! I still wear my Crocs to work and on weekends sometimes but not for walking long distances!

(My husband just asked what I was chatting about and I said, "Crocs - they're not all they're Croc'ed up to be!" :lmao: This just about sums up my thinking....)

Are they a snug fit on your foot or loose?

I ask b/c I had read from crocs that your food shouldn't touch any part of the edges of the shoe--so I am surprised when folks say they are getting blisters.

I have the Mary Janes--I love them...but I could have gone 1 size bigger....I had to do the dryer trick on one of the feet b/c my big toe does reach the edge of teh shoe. They are size 10s....which is my regular size--but I am floating between a 10 and an 11 on a regular basis right now...1 size up and the 11 would have been perfect.

I didn't think I would like them--but I do.

They are a fairly loose fit..I am roughly a 10 (that whole feet shrinking back down after pregnancy is a total myth:laughing: ) and I am wearing the beach crocs in a size large (which is supposed to fit size 10-11).

I think my problem with my crocs at WDW was a combo of factors--the getting wet, and lots of walking all in one day. I wore them all weekend up at our lake home and was tromping in and out of the water without any problems.

I got my Disney crocs last fall, and now that warm weather is here, I'm finding that my feet sweat a lot if I wear them barefoot. If I wear thin socks, they're fine. I have to wear them snug. I tried my mom's because they're bigger, but I felt like I had on clown shoes and I kept tripping over my own toes. Maybe I'm just clumsy, but I find them to be just fine as long as they fit like regular tennis shoes. I do wear the heel strap with them too.

I get blisters on my heel if I wear the strap down for a long time and I also find them sweatier than sandals for the summer.

For me, I *love* them as my winter slip-ons. I used to wear Birks over socks (we don't have snow) and these are much better and very comfortable for light use. In the summer, I would much rather wear sandals. I don't think I'm even going to bring the Crocs for our trip in two days. Sneakers, birks, and flip-flops instead.

They seem to be a matter of personal preference.

You don't they aren't very good for your feet and contrary to popular beliefe your feet do sweat in them and then get slimy. My mothers podiatrist (foot Dr) told her not to wear them as they were not good shoes for your feet.

i can't imagine that they would be any worse off than flip-flops rubbing against your toes. they even offer more support than flip flops, and crocs are a good idea to wear when you know you'll be going to a park that has rides that says: "you will get wet, you MAY get SOAKED." no one wants to walk around with wet tennis shoes! I say bring along a pair of crocs, even if it's the knock-offs, for one day or so. if you dont see a problem with them, make sure u have a beack up pair of shoes.. tennis shoes, maybe. but as for, "oh, i was so comfortable," "my doctor says it's bad.." that's everyone's personal reaction. break the crocs in BEFORE ya go!!

I love the Capris. I just wore them on our trip last week. I had a minor procedure done on the bottom of my foot and they were the only shoe that I was able to wear and not be in pain. My feet never "burned" on the bottom as happens with other flip flops (as my username indicates I have thing for flipflops).

:)

I tried the Beach and Cayman crocs at our local Boscov's and I didn't find them very comfy, but many folks do. They also had the Mary Jane style, but I wanted something a bit more open for summer and they didn't feel much different to me than the Beach and Caymans. I bought the Athens online without ever trying them-big mistake...they are way too wide for me and the strap between the toes rubs my foot raw. I gave them away.

But...since I had heard all the raves...I decided to give some other styles a whirl. I have 3 pairs of Capris and I LOVE them. The strap between the toes does not rub at all and they are not wide and floppy (well, not AS floppy as the Athens). I also have a pair of Sassaris and love them too. I have no foot, back or leg problems, so I wasn't looking at the croc's for those reasons-just wanted to see what all the hype was over and have the new fad in my closet too.

I wore the Athens Crocs on our September trip. I was very surprised I wasn't tired and sore after walking all day as I had been with every other kind of shoe on prior trips. I used to get bad leg cramps the next morning after walking when I would wear sneakers. I never had to stop and rest. I felt like a ball of energy with the Athens. And on top of that, my feet stayed nice and cool compared to sneakers. If you do wear the Athens, be 100% sure to cover your feet in sunscreen. I will never wear anything beside Crocs again to Disney World.

We just got back from WDW last week after 8 days in the parks. I wore my CROCS the entire time! LOVED THEM!

Now, we went last year for 10 days and while I had my crocs, I did not wear them because I had bought some Merrell's that I just love. I wore my Merrell's the entire time and loved them too. I just was not sold on the fact that Crocs were all they have been made out to be, so I only wore them to the water parks.

But, for some reason, this time, I just put them on the first day and kept wearing them, and kept wearing them, and kept wearing them. LOVED THEM. And, here is how I know how wonderful they are....my feet never ached once UNTIL my husband said to me in the middle of the day at Epcot "Honey, can I wear your crocs...my feet are killing me". He was wearing very expensive Keen's. So, since we wear the same size show, I swapped with him...It took about two hours and my feet were killing me, my back hurt and my knees ached! I demanded my Crocs back and he went and bought a pair that had a very expensive Disney "mark up".

I was going to post a trip report soon and one of my top three things was going: BRING YOUR CROCS! I'm sold and won't go back without them and I'm not an easy person to convince.

Ok, so I must admit, I have not read every reply here... just can't stand another "croc" conversation ;)
That being said, I caved, I bought crocs, MaryJanes, TieDie, they look .... well, pretty cool, if I do say so my 40 something year old self. :)
I justified the $35 cost for our upcoming, and unfortunatly over trip. I wore them day one at MK. Yes, YES, they were comfa. VERA infact. Never for a minute did I regret buying/wearing them. Did I get blisters? Yup, on the TOPS of my toes, cuz the fit kinda big, so I rubbed. My feet did not hurt, though, until I took them off, then I felt the pain.
SO, my advice, do it, buy em, you'll love them many wears other than Disney, and yes, they are good there too....

I was you a few months ago...why spend the money...they are just plastic shoes. I first bought a pair of Mickey Crocs. I am a no shoes person I put shoe one because I have to. When I do wear shoes in the summer they are a pair of broken in Keds or flip flops. But anyway I bought Mickey Crocs a month away from our trip to break them in. It took all of about a day to break them in. They are so comfy I went and bought a pair of Carpris. I was nervous about the piece between my toe. Again one day and comfy as all get out. I will be wearing one or the other pair of crocs to the park.

Oh by the way I bought my ds a pair of croclings. This boy HATES shoes I have never been able to keep a pair of shoes on him. No joke the first day he would not take them off even for nap.
