Hi! I don't want to spend a million $$$$ to stay on property and I'm overwhelmed with offsite options. 2 adults, 2 kids (6,8) Please help me decide. My budget is $260/night.

My requirements (in order of priority) are:
- 10 min walk, door to door
- decent pool
- breakfast included
- no brown or burnt orange aesthetic

Thanks!

Per night price at each hotel will be determined by your dates:

I'd look into stays at the following places (in no particular order):
Candy Cane Inn
Grand Legacy
Camelot
Tropicana
HoJo

Thanks! I want to go mid July. I did some preliminary searching and the ones your mentioned are around $260.

Just got back from DL last week and stayed at HoJo with my girls. They let you check your bags and head to the parks and text you when your room is ready. Our room was actually ready when we arrived in the morning, which was a blessing. We booked one of the older buildings, not a fan of the towers. Our only bad stay there was in a tower. Room was a little dated, but clean and in good working order. Bedding was so comfy! Many motels on Harbor have limited parking, so you can’t leave your car and go to the park before your room is ready, or leave your car after checkout, check your bags, and return from the parks in the evening. Which means leaving and paying for parking at the Mickey and Friends garage, an extra $35 expense. HoJo has a $25 parking fee per night, but most hotels/motels do. No free breakfast, but you have a fridge, microwave and Keurig coffeemaker in the room. There is also a McDonalds, Panera, IHOP, and Mimi’s Cafe on the way to the parks. We usually pack frozen breakfast sandwiches and have those with coffee and tea. The second and third morning, we bought lemon tea cakes and other treats from Holly Jolly Bakery the night before for breakfast. So delicious! If you drink tea, bring some, they had Lipton tea which is not good. Quick walk to the parks.

Thanks for your detailed reply! How long did it take you to walk to the parks? Did you use the pool?

I stayed at Hojo in August and it took me about 7 or 8 minutes to walk there give or take a minute or 2 depending on the traffic signals. There are 2 traffic signals so if you hit them just after they turn red it can add a couple of minutes. I will say that I have a 3 year old so she was in a stroller so I was walking at my pace not hers. If your kids walk slower it may take a little longer.

We didn't use the regular pool but we did use the splash pad area and loved it. My daughter had a wonderful time there and still talks about it over 6 months later.

I highly recommend Anaheim Majestic Garden. Pool is good and has a hot tub. Not a 10 min walk but they do offer a shuttle which is great when you don't want to walk but it is an easy walk to DTD.

Where do you get dropped off with the shuttle? And how often does it come?

Our go-to is the Hojo. Rooms are very clean. We have always stayed in buildings one and two, and those are the buildings that have been refreshed and seem to get more care. Front desk staff is excellent. Walk usually takes us less than 10 minutes, but we are two adults with no children in tow anymore. Walk was safe enough that we used to let our teenagers travel back and forth on their own pretty much any time from park open to close, but we encouraged them to walk back on the more populated side of the street after dark. The pool at Hojo is very nice and the separate water play area seems to be much enjoyed by young children so your kids might like that. There is no included breakfast. There is an on-site sundries shop with snacks, a Mimi's restaurant on the corner across the street, and a Panera and McDonald's along your route to the park.

Please tell me there’s a Nespresso machine and I’m sold.

The walk from HoJo is longer than I prefer. We stayed at the Tropicana most recently and it was worth it to be so close. They do not have free breakfast and there is nothing fancy about it but that didn't matter to me because of how close it is.

Best Western Park Place Inn Family Suite .
(I think HoJos probably has a better pool area ) …
Whatever happened to the Great Wolf Lodge that was going to Open ?

There is a Great Wolf Lodge in the Anaheim area. Can’t remember where exactly but not walking distance to the parks. My son has stayed there with his wife’s family and enjoyed it.
