In your humble opinion, of course.;)

Getting fired up for our April trip and bringing my mom along for her first vacation since 1976! (Might as well be 1876 after this long -;) )

I want to show her all your replies so she knows what she's in for - she always says "I don't like to travel, blah, blah, blah..." Tell her how GREAT WL is and what is so great about it please.:)

The lobby is breathtaking. And despite its immensity, WL has such a cozy feel. I love the little sitting areas on each floor.

:woohoo: in the" deep end" of the pool there's a little waterfall spot (if u will) and I loved resting my elbows and head on it while my body was in the pool, i was totally relaxing, I forgot everything and just enjoyed the pool experience!

I have to say the lobby as well! When you first walk in it's a jaw dropping experience! It's absolutely beautiful! The attention to detail is incredible!

I'd have to say the atmosphere, also the lobby; :woohoo:

when you walk into the WL; it takes you back to simplier times or at least that's my opinion.

I'm from the country or what some folks would call the "stix".............haha
:rotfl2: armadillas & all.....................:lmao: squirrels, owls ......and I live in the city limits.................

so WL would appeal to me, but really the atmosphere just takes your breath away............and to me it just takes you back to when times were simplier, quiet, and just down right good..............................

OK, now I'm off my soap box:laughing: .................ENJOY !!!! & have FUN !!!!

The lobby..specifically, the deep armchairs that you just sink into! Heaven...pure and simple.

I can sit in one of those chairs and just be awed by the detail of the lobby's construction and decor. It's jaw dropping for sure; like a huge Lincoln log cabin. :worship:

I loved the beautiful view we had of the lake from our room. I couldn't see the MK, so it felt very mountain-like, not like I was in the middle of a Disney resort. I loved the trees nearby, and listening to the boat horn when it came and went from the dock. I loved the option of taking the boat to Fort Wilderness, or the Contemporary or MK. It may have been slower at times than the bus or taking our car, but it was much more enjoyable.

The whole architecture of the hotel is amazing. You are really staying in a Lincoln Logs cabin The outside design is amazing and when you walk into the lobby it is breathtaking. The totem poles, the design of the floor. Its just amazing:cool1:

Have a great trip!!!!:cool1:

the lobby! i love the bridge and the creek! gift shop is very nice also the very short bus ride to mk! (about 5 minutes) have a great trip! :)

Make sure you take her up on the different floors of the lobby, and look down... it's a great view.

Just take some time looking at all the detail hidden in the wallpaper, on the tables, the lights, is like a whole attraction itself. I could spend a whole day just sitting down in the lobby.

Also, make sure you take her outside the hotel for a nice walk. The landscaping is incredible.

For us it's the "all under one roof" resort concept, the only one on property like it. When you go in June it's great that when you are "home" at the resort you are truly "home" and in air conditioning and out of the rain. You can go from your room, to the shops, to the restaraunts/ food court, arcade, etc. without getting wet, we just love that about WL, and everything is so close together, no hikes to get your mugs refilled or grab a snack or get to the buses. What a GREAT resort!

Sitting in the lobby, just relaxing.

The gift shop is really cool.

This sounds weird, but when you walk by the Territory Lounge and Artist Point, the smell is awesome.

Aren't the Contemporary (with the exception being the Garden Wing), Swan, Dolphin, and Animal Kingdom Lodge all under one roof?

I stand corrected, sorry. Yes, CR is but with the wings I don't consider it, I guess I don't consider swan and dolphin because you can't buy the dining plan there and we need that to travel:thumbsup2 . Yes, AK lodge is, the only reason we haven't stayed there is because of WL's proximity to MK, on the water and the boat service to the CR and MK, ALL of these reasons make it the best for us.

I love the boats to the MK including the walk down to the lake. It's like being in a mountain resort. And if you do need to wait for a boat, there's always something going on to watch: birds, boats, parasailing. It's a very relaxing way to get to the MK -- makes it even more magical.

WL is our favorite resort! The atmosphere is just amazing! It is the only place where we can actually relax while at WDW. There are so many little kooks around the inner lobby that you can just go and 'chill' from the hetic days at the parks. I also love the fact that its so close to Ft. Wilderness, I usually go and rent a bike and ride through Ft. Wilderness. It is so beautiful!! You almost forget you are at WDW. For some the lack of a monorail is a hendrence, but we like that there is not one. It is far more relaxing to hop on the boat and go to CR or MK that way. The hot tub is fantastic, along with the pool and pool bar!!! We also love the fact that you can rent boats, especially the water mice at WL and not have to go to the other resorts on the lakes. It is simply a beautiful resort that has soo much to offer, plus it is the cheaper of the Deluxe resorts on the lakes/MK. Getting around the lodge was pretty easy, if you needed to go to Roaring Forks, pool or buses. I hope you have a fantastic trip, we can't wait to go back! By the way, I was very reluctant to even stay there~being a CR/GF type girl. The 'outdoors' theme just didn't appeal to me at all! I quickly changed my mind when we rolled up and went into the lobby! It is just breath taking! The room service was also very quick and good!!!
