Our first cruise was in 1999 (I think) and we were the first cruise to go back to castaway cay after the hurricane (again, can't remember storm name). Over the years we have watched the beautiful landscape grow. Comparing first trip and most recent in June 2004, castaway cay has come a long way (in terms of plant life). For those of you who have seen castaway cay before and after recent storm - how did the island hold up??

Considering the circumstances, the island "held up" really well. Much of the landscaping is brown, but still standing. On 9/17 we saw a few broken branches, but for the most part, other than the browning, we really couldn't tell a major storm had just been through. The CM's all stated that the island should be green again in just a few weeks. Mother Nature is truly amazing!

Pictures are worth a thousand words. island looks great considering the strength of the storm that went thru there. thanks
