Little things we have enjoyed at Riverside (or for us, Dixie Landings) -
Taking the carriage ride at night. Very nice and relaxing, and an unexpected item to be available at a moderate. Though it might have something with the "pregnancy caused by POR" mentioned earlier.
In addition to the usual surrey bikes and watercraft for rent they also have canoes for rent , too. Nice, slow, and quiet - a pleasant alternative.
In the lobby at check-in , notice the names of the cities hanging from the rafters above. Those are the names of the cities along the Mississippi river that were part of the cotton trade route.
Look at the detail of the water wheel and cotton press. According to a cast member these were constructed as they would have been built back in the 1800's, and were tested to be fully functional. An amazing level of detail for something that is basically "eye-candy" for the resort guests.
Checkout Fulton's Store - probably one of the better resort mercantile stores.
As others have mentioned check out Bob Jackson in the River Roost. Here's his web site with his schedule

Take time to enjoy the grounds. Some have described Riverside as the moderate resort that feels like a deluxe. I know from experience that the grounds around the resort are among the most beautiful on property, and I would certainly agree with them.
Best Wishes !
