Hello all,
I have always wanted to order the Prime rib here. DH always get's it, and the one bite I have is so good. I always end up ordering something else though.

This year, the Grand Duke, 12oz New York Strip Steak with horshradish Bearnaise on Stilton Crusted Potato Quiche is catching my eye.

I just read a post where the cheese was really strong. I love cheeses, but I have tasted some really strong cheeses that I don't care for.

I would love to hear from those that have tried this and the Prime rib. What did you think of both?

Thanks in advance.

Melanie

I love the prime rib at Cindy's. On our last trip I had it and a caesar salad. The meal was great.

I am sorry I can't help you with the other item. The prime rib is so good I always get it. I love prime rib and only really eat it on vacation.

My Mom and I always split the Grand Duke steak at CRT for dinner. It's huge and half for each is enough for us. It's very good and so is the quiche. It does have a cheesey taste, but I like it. You can probably substitute another side dish if you wish. I've done that at other restaurants.

The reason I get the Grand Duke is for the Stilton crusted potato's. I was told the last time you could get another entree and ask for it. I don't think it has a strong taste at all.

Sounds yummy! We will be doing the MVMCP on 12/13 and have yet to determine what exactly our plans will be for dinner.

Having never done a CRT, and considering I will have my 50+ mom and 70+ grandma with me, would you think CRT would be a nice option for dinner that night...IF I can get ressies?

We typically dine at the resorts....Artist Point, Jiko, Yachtsmans....will we be pleased?

Trampslady,

I don't think you will have trouble getting a PS for dinner. Just call at the 60 day out mark if you really want a specific seating time.

I called for the Saturday evening prior to Thanksgiving around 9:30 a.m. on the first calling date. No problem!

I saw someone's photo of the dining room and it looked lovely! The food at Tony's is mediocre and expensive and we aren't fans of buffet/pre-plated dinners so LTT is out. CRT was really the only option left.

Dinner at Cindy's castle? Why not!
I'll bet everyone will enjoy it.

Like DebbieB said it is huge! My husband could hardly finish his last week. He says that the steak is very tender and moist. That is a shock since he gets his steak WELL DONE - burnt!

Do you like blue cheeses? Stilton is a blue cheese. If you already knew that I wasn't trying to be rude. But lots of people don't know that.

My husband says that the Stilton Crusted Potato Quiche is wonderful. The portion size for the quiche was also larger this time.

I think everyone should try CRT for supper at least once! It is magical. If you are lucky enough to get a PS time so you will still be dining during the fireworks you will be amazed. It is so beautiful watching the fireworks from inside the castle!!!!

To me the prime rib was okay. Once I tried the Kingdom Feast there was no turning back!

Go for it! If you don't like it ask them to take it back and bring you something else. I'm sure they will accomidate you.

I really like the look of the menu, but DH is a Steak & chips ( fries ) with no frills type of guy.
Do you think they would do the prime rib with just fries for him, if we ask nicely ?

I'm sure they would!

Actually I don't think your husband would be able to substitute chips. They haven't had them on even the children's menu in all the years we've been eating there. If they could, I'm sure they would but they must not have a deep fat fryer. One of our sons loves french fries but he contents himself with mashed potatoes at CRT. But do try it...it's so much fun to eat there!

CRT for dinner is our back up consolation prize if we don't get in for breakfast one of the next 7 days--missed out today!--We have Ps for 5:15 and fireworks are sched for 6:00. Can you see them from everywhere in the restaurant? I've never even seen pics of the inside.

My kids just really want to eat in the castle even though I would prefer we do it at breakfast. (I know they'd love the whole princess thing, we just haven't talked about it much in case we don't get in.)

You can see them from most all of the tables. We haven't had a table yet where we couldn't see them. At first you might not think you will be able to see them, but when the fireworks start you will! You may have to turn around or something like that.

Thanks for the reply everyone. I am definately getting the quiche.

We do have reservations on 12/1 at 6pm for CRT. This is a MVMCP night, and on the Disneyworld Web site it states that there are fireworks at 6pm. I will keep my fingers crossed. I was going to try to show up about 5 minutes prior like they ask, and then hope that we could stand outside to watch them till they were ready for us. I guess if they seat us right away we would could watch them inside.

Seems odd though having fireworks on a MVMCP night??

Thanks again,

Maybe if you can get there about 15 minutes early they might be able to seat you before 6 and you can watch the fireworks from your table!
