Tell me I'm not alone...

My DH did his bathroom in a classic Mickey theme. When we were putting our house up for sale, the realtor told us it was "inappropriate". I can understand that not everyone shares our love of the mouse, but I thought "inappropriate" was a bit harsh :rotfl2:

Ok...that is funny...then my house is full of inappropriateness...

Jenny:)

Too funny, I have just started painting our Mickey guest room yesterday. Thought it would be inappropriatly comforting to guest.

We are getting ready to remodel our bathroom, and where do you think I turned for inspiration for the design elements?

Photos of the bathrooms at Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas, and the Villas at the Grand Californian.

I want to shower every morning thinking that I'm getting ready for a day in the parks!

We went to WDW 4 times last year, I've been to Disneyland 2 times already this year, and we are getting ready for another trip to Disneyland in August - WDW in November - and who knows after that! HAHA

We decorated our home office in Mickey and Disney.

My office at work looks like a vignette out of Toy Story Midway Mania with Buzz, Woody, and tons of Potato Heads! HAHA

My co-workers tell my office looks like the day after the Carnival. :rolleyes1

I can't help it! :goodvibes

Every time I come back from a Disney vacation I spend at least two weeks disappointed at the lack of hidden Mickeys. :sad2:

Also my collection of pottery with a few pieces from the Mitsukoshi store in the Japan Pavilion is growing as well. I try to buy a small piece of pottery on every vacation - a little bowl, dish, or other interesting piece. They are great because they aren't obviously Disney souvenirs, even though I know they are all from Disney Vacations :rolleyes1

Is it a bad sign that I am trying to cover up my Disney addiction? :lmao:

Perhaps this should evolve into a support group thread :rotfl:

Years ago, when we had our old house up for sale...we had to redo the ONLY bathroom. It was all done up in black and white which was totally appropriate for the 1940s house.

I had this incredible urge to put bright yellow and red accents but wasn't going to do anything to disrupt the sale of the house.

You would think the way we all spend money at Disney and how much the alcohol lowers our inhibitions they'd give alcohol away!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Can I substitute beer? I'm with ya if I can substitute beer.......:rolleyes1
I'd like to substitute mojitos'!

Yes, you can substitute beer....and now we have another storm in Vero...another bottle of wine...now I'm contemplating a Dooney and Burke purse and Mickey fireplace accessories (never mind that I don't have a fireplace...yet...)
Jenny:)
oohhhh - ahhhhh - Dooney and Burke purse! Love it and totally contemplate it each time I'm there. Next time, I'm shopping after cocktails! Last time I went shopping after cocktails, I bought a pair of Burberry sunglasses that actually hurt my head, to this day!

I think the use of "inappropriate" was a bit dramatic! Or maybe inappropriate was used inappropriately!

Well I be drinking Kahlua and dreming I am at Disney as I reply to this thread.

It is a good thing I do not plan to sell my house as it is so "inappropriate" if it can not have Disney. My DH and I put oak floors down this last year. DH surprised me with 3 Ebony mickey heads embedded into the wooden floors.
He has also embedded Mickey in 2 pieces of furniture he made for me. The kitchen cabenets have Disney pull Knobs. The new trim around the windows inside the living room will have embedded mickeys in the corners. I have a couple of Mickey paintings in the living room that DH surprised me with after our last trip. Best thing is he does not even drink and he does all this for me.

Oh, did I mention that stepping stone molds he made for me one christmas.

If he can imagine it, he does it.

Awesome....DH joined the Dark Dis side a month ago when he just had to have his own OL. It will contain his fav blanket and 100 green aliens that he takes on every trip to display below our TV at AKV. Our prized Disney themed things are the large statues of Pirate Mickey, Pooh and Tigger Pounce, Pooh and Tigger pounce framed poster, 100 green aliens for his home office (not to be confused with the 100 he keeps in the OL), Pooh and Tigger mosaic puzzles that we put together and framed (after almost divorcing over outting them together) and our Mr. Ray (my fav) large print with all the characters from Nemo on his back.

I will save the Tigger Christmas Tree complete with custom tree skirt (made by MIL) for a different thread. Tonight coming home from my parents house I listened to Kidani lobby music....my name is Lucretia and I am a Disney Freak...hello peeps.

:rotfl: You're killing me! I actually contemplated a D&B too, after dinner at Ohana a couple weeks ago.

I love the green aliens.
Is your DH...THE CLAW???

I gave in to the D&B DL bag last month when the CMs kept mentioning that they will no longer be available after July 17. I want a bag from the original if I'm shelling out that kind of cash for a bag. Kitchen acessories, I don't care but the other stuff, I need to think on it!

LOL, that is too funny! I've also slowly been adding Disney items to my office. The last one was two weeks ago - a Stitch snow globe and it's adorable! I'm also contemplating getting some Olszewski miniatures for my office. They're $$$ but hard to resist. I'm sick I tell 'ya!

We did the Mickey bathroom after our first trip. After last year's trip, my kindergarten classroom turned into Mickey heads, castle pics, kids wear Birthday pins from WDW on their birthdays, we start the year off with our Mystery Mickey of the day to get to know each other..... All the markers are in WDW resort mugs.. I play Wishes as their naptime music... Wonder what will happen after our trip in 2 weeks?

I too love to decorate my house with disney. First I did our christmas decorations and tree. Our first room we did was the kids bathroom. Then I moved to my office at work, followed by disney prints all over my house. Now I want to do my kitchen too.

My DH just shakes his head when he sees something new.

Where can I find these fireplace accessories you speak of? :cool2:

I have not seen the fireplace accessories lately - I'm wondering if the Christmas shop at Downtown Disney has any? Sorry if I got you all excited:)

Jenny

That's ok- I have a trip planned for Dec, The Christmas shop is my FAVORITE store (I just never had a fireplace before to pay attention) so I'll be on the lookout!:thumbsup2

Disney came into play when we decorated our log home too. Not so much with the characters, but I did use the inspiration of Disney for some of my rustic decor. I have a few Mickey items in the kitchen, but that's really the only thing of character here.
