I'll be at WDW for a quickie 3-night trip in mid-December. I'm trying to make it a cheap trip, so have a reservation at ASMusic. I haven't stayed at an All-Star resort since 1999 (Movies), cuz I've been at the Swan or Dolphin ever since. Should I stick with ASMusic to save money, or upgrade a bit to Coronado Springs?

I really like the AS resorts, so if you don't intend to be in your room much I'd stick with them and save the money. With a quick trip ASMu should serve the purpose and save you money.

The All Stars are a budget resorts so you know you will get a budget style room. The bathroom and sink and TV, etc are all budget "style". They are clean rooms and have everything you need. They are also VERY Disney in style and theme. They are active resorts in summer at least. I cannot say what you will expect this time of year. I have never had problems with noisey neighbors or kids causing mayhem. To a large degree you know what you are getting already as you have stayed there before. The best thing you are getting is a great price for on site. Don't sweat the issue of the room and just enjoy yourself at Disney. It is a cinch that it will not be as nice as the Dolphin or CS. That is what they charge extra for. It will not be a horribly bad difference from any mod though. All Disney resorts have good service overall and are safe and clean in my opinion. Just go and have fun. I have stayed at ASMu two times and have never been disappointed. I stayed at POFQ last year and liked it that much better. However I would not hesitate at an All Star stay if it was a quick trip with a low budget.

I think it would be harder to switch from deluxe "down" to value, but if you're on a budget - go with ASMusic. I love ASMusic!! :D I've never had problems with kids or loudness or anything either. I find I'd rather save money on the room and splurge on goodies or souveneirs (which I can NOT spell.. LOL)

POP?

It is newer and I've read better set up, more convienent etc. Rooms are not as loud (don't know how else to put it) and there is a lake which makes it feel less like a value.

Pop Century isn't available. It's either ASMusic or Sports for value resorts.

Wow. Sports is booked ... it's always the last one to go and that got me thinking. Are you going between 12/5 and 12/11? If so, do not stay at an All Star Resort!!! That's when the Pop Warner football players and cheerleaders decend on WDW and specifically the All Star resorts. You will by 1000% happier upgrading away from wild, unchaperoned children!

Robin, I am arriving on Dec. 11th for 3 nights. Do the Pop Warner folks check out on the 11th? Both Music and Sports have availability at the discounted rate. Movies and Pop Century are not available.

I called CRO, and Pop Century was available at an AP rate. :) It was more than the CM rate I had at Music, but less than the rack rate, so I'm happy.
