Tell me I made the right ticket choice for this trip.

Going February 12-16.
Got a 3 day BASE ticket.
We were originally going to do a 3 day PH ticket but after talking to my friend about what she wants to do I decided we should get the 3 day base instead.

She has no interest in AK which I'm fine with.
She also really wants to see F! as she has never seen it. I'm not a fan but I'm fine with seeing it.
She also has a slower paced touring style than I do.
Plus $64 each is money better spent somewhere else if we were to end up getting the PH and not even using it.
So I feel based on those things it would be better to just do one park per day doing MK, EP, and HS and doing it at a semi slower pace than I'm used to and basically stop to smell the roses.

Then there's still a part of me that wonders if we will regret not having the option.

Did we make the right choice?

I understand we can always upgrade but just looking for reassurance that this is likely the better choice base on the above.

I assume you are asking about the Park Hopper. You don't have to have it going in. You can add it or not add it at anytime during your visit. It will cost the same no matter when you do it, be it now or on your last day. It is a flat charge. If you're not sure don't get it now. When you get there and find you want to hop... then put it on.

I guess I don't know what you need reassurance on. If you think this fits your party's needs, then go for it. As you said, you can always upgrade. There's no penalty for doing some while you're there vs. in advance.

We used park hoppers when the MK was routinely open late. Now they all close pretty much the same time. Also with all the construction the buses are slower.

If you’re only going for 3 days, and you don’t care about one park, then base tickets are probably fine. Hopping takes a lot of time and can slow down your schedule.

So you have a February and December trip booked for next year? You might want to consider upgrading to an AP on your February trip. Maybe you can squeeze in a short spring or summer trip as well. :)

I have a FD BB in December with my sister so I have to have a specific ticket type and package in order to get the discount.
Its not worth the money to upgrade in my situation.

We used to PH almost every day of every trip, and we loved it. Then we did 4 trips without PH and it was fine. I think with your plans, it will work out just fine the way you have it planned. You can always add the PH if you decide you need it.

Anytime you have two or more trips booked in the same year, it might be worth it. You can always save your December tickets for another time. Yes, you have to pay for those tickets now, but it could save you money in the long run, especially if you're interested in memory maker or taking advantage of any of the other AP discounts.

I would just say keep the AP in mind, especially if you do end up upgrading to parkhoppers on your February trip.

It's hard when you're trying to balance the touring styles of more than one person. But that sounds like a slower pace than I would be happy with. I don't often add the PH option at WDW ...... EXCEPT for when I'm on a short trip. I would definitely do it on a 3 day trip. I think $64 is pretty reasonable to maximize your park time. I'd probably use it to head back to the parks a night or two of your stay. And having the hopper for that would give you the most flexibility.

We just did our first trip and had the same tickets (three day, one park per day). It worked perfectly for us. I know park hoppers are popular on these boards, but we didn't think there was much point to hopping since we were new to the World. It made more sense to us to sample the parks to find out what we liked first (we did Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom). We also didn't want to spend the time getting from one park to another on the same day. In retrospect, I definitely think it was the right choice, and we'd do the same thing on a future trip (no hopping). Especially if your friend wants a slower pace, I think base tickets are the way to go. You can always add park hopper later if you decide you want it, but save the money upfront if you end up not needing it.

We had PHs our last trip (because of FD) and used them once. It takes a lot of energy to hop. We prefer to use the time to relax and dine.
