I am curious, cuz I just take forever to "come to" and I am a night person and I can't change it. I feel like I am alone in this, sleep comes easy... but waking up I am draggy and not ok for about an hour. How about you? Also, what do you do the moment you get up (after the bathroom run).. do you go right to the coffee? computer? what?????????

Well, I wake up RIGHT when my alarm goes "Beep! Beep! Beep". I am a morning person for the most part. After I wake up I ususally get a cup of coffee and get on the computer, just like you said! LOL

usually an alarm. I wake up when it goes off, but i don't really move until five or six minutes later. I am a total night person. its like I'm nocturnal. I'd rather be up all night and sleep all day. so I sually go to sleep after or near midnight. and wake up (during school) at four thirty. and when I'm out of school I don't use the alarm but I wake up around 8 every morning.

As my mom once said, "Let's sleep until we wake up". :rotfl2: I thought that was one of the funniest things she ever said! :teeth: What she meant is let's not set an alarm, but in her ever funny way of saying things, she had to word it strangely.

When I wake up in the mornings I have to sit in bed watching tv/and or playing electronic Yahtzee (please don't be reading, Tag Fairy!) for 5-10 minutes before I can get out of bed. Then I stumble downstairs and drink a couple mugs of coffee, read the paper, surf the internet for awhile, etc, before I wake up. That takes at least an hour.

It doesn't matter what time it is. I am not a morning person. :sad2:

Phone alarm goes off at 6:45 > hit snooze while trying to not throw it across the room. Radio alarm goes off at 6:50 > hit snooze while trying to not throw it across the room. Repeat every 5 minutes for the next 40 minutes.

Roll out of bed, bathroom run, wash face, do make-up, hair, get dressed, run out the door cursing because I'm running late. Making a vow to get up earlier tomorrow. :rotfl:

I much prefer sleeping until I wake up. (My mom says that T&B and now I do too).

:lmao: LOL! Kinda sounds like me- except I didn't mention trying to get DS out of bed in the mornings- He's not a morning person by any means!!

I love your username WatchinCaptKangaroo! :thumbsup2

How do I wake up in the morning? Not very easily! :lmao:

Just this morning when the alarm went off I hit the snooze (as I always do) and rolled back over. DH started talking to me and said we needed to get moving, blah, blah, blah... (He is the get up the moment you wake up type person  )

I told him I set the alarm on purpose so that I can hit the snooze and give myself extra time. I cannot turn off the alarm and just get out of bed. So he came back with "well, I bet if you were leaving for Disney today you would be up" and I was like "duh, but I'm not so I am staying in bed for awhile longer".

Thankfully Sunday is about the only day a week we need to get up around the same time, M-F he is at work looooonng before I rise, so I don't have to listen to his early morning rise and shine talk. You'd think after 16 years he would know I'm not gonna change.

If I have to work that day the first thing I do is get in the shower, but if it is a day off I usually eat and read the paper in my pj's.

Oh my gosh, I am a COMA sleeper. It takes me a good two hours after waking to be fully functional. Also, if I get less than 8 hours of sleep each night, I really suffer the next day. It's harder for me to concentrate, I even feel nauseated, etc.

I've always been a night owl as well. This thread really struck a chord with me, because lately I've been wondering how to change my body clock. How to change from a night owl into an early bird. I'm beginning to think it's just not possible.

Oh, forgot to add that I've never been a coffee drinker (maybe that's my problem! :) ), so the first thing I do when I stumble out of the bathroom is head into the kitchen for a big glass of ice water, then back to the shower, then move on to my computer. I really want to be one of those people who do Yoga to greet the sunrise each morning. I guess when I want it badly enough, I'll actually do it.

I usually just wake up at 6. I honestly can't remember the last time I used an alarm clock other then when I have to wake up prior to 6. I don't drink coffee but have 2 diet cokes for my morning caffeine and I hit the computer while I am getting my mind in order. Let me also say I think the only reason I get up without an alarm is because I hate that sound!

Im so tired when I the alarm goes off, but with in 5 min Im ready to roll, and making coffee, the smell is even better then the taste

I went to a sleep doctor last year. One of the best things I learned is the snooze button is not your friend. If you don't get up immediately when that alarm goes off, it only intensifies a long (painful) wake up period. It's worked for me. I go to bed at the same time every night now, get out of bed immediately and I feel so much better every morning.

I wake up far too easily, and once I'm awake, I'm awake.

I really had no idea anyone else said this!!! I thought only my mom! :rotfl2:

The kids get us up in the morning - we haven't had to use an alarm clock in just over 6 years! I don't like mornings, but I'm able to get up pretty fast when I have to - learned that in college when I was waking up at 7:45 am for my 8 am class! ;)

Unless I have somewhere to be, I usually let my ds (or all 3 kids during the summer) wake me up in the morning. During the school year, my dh gets the girls up and dressed and fed for school and they take off by 7:30am. My son usually sleeps until 8:30am or so.. so when he starts asking for me (i've usually been half awake since the kids have left) I get up and go potty and get him and we go downstairs where he demands breakfast right away and while he's eating I check email.

Now, during the summer... my dh doesn't leave for work until 9:30am where the kids have been awake well over an hour. So I usually hear dh come in to get ready around 9ish and I lay in bed until he's ready to leave (usually the kids have migrated into the bed with me) and then we go downstairs after he leaves. The girls usually have already made breakfast for themselves (their favorite part of the morning, to do it themselves!) and are watching cartoons.

Now, when I have to be somewhere and have to set the alarm, it's very hard for me to wake up. I drag around and usually feel pretty out of it. And for some reason, if I HAVE to get up and it's before 8am, I get a stomach ache every time... very weird!

I wake up between 4:30 and 5:00 am every morning and don't use an alarm clock. It doesn't matter what time I go to bed either. I do like to sit for a while with a cup of coffee and watch the news or visit the Dis :teeth: .

I have always been a night owl but I should add I also suffer from chronic insomnia :guilty: DH works 2nd shift so he lets me sleep until I wake up which now is about 9 hours after I fall asleep versus the 13/14 hours it used to be so I guess I got better in that respect!

I wake up,stumble downstairs straight to the kitchen where it is either a cup of tea(preffered choice) or coffee then to the couch to blankly stare at the tv for about an hour before I can comprehend what I'm seeing---Somewhere in there I'll make a trip to the bathroom but I'm not sure of the time from wakeup to time to potty ratio :confused3

After a while I make my way to the computer where I spend time going thru whats been happening since last I was on until I'm fully awake and ready for the day---A good day on the DIS means I may not be ready for hours :teeth:

Most days I get up when my alarm goes off, bathroom then I go on the computer checking email, banking and then here:)
