Hi! DH and I are going to WDW alone in Nov. I was able to make a dinner ressie for Nov.19th. We have eaten at Boma before and enjoyed it!:goodvibes We have stayed at the AKL twice and haven't managed to try Jiko- it doesn't look like a place that my kids would behave @:confused3 . So, we have never managed to even:rotfl2: think of spending an evening there! So, tell me all about it! Thanks in advance!

We ate at Jiko for the first time last October for our honeymoon and I loved it so much that we are going back for our anniversary dinner this October! We got the filet with macaroni and cheese...... OMG it is too die for! You wouldn't think the combination would go together but it is fabulous especially in the wine sauce that it sits in.... The flatbread appetizers are all great too..... and I love AKL for the atmosphere..... this year, I am going to try some wine there because I know they have an extensive wine list! Can't wait! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

We (3 adults) LOVE Jiko. It is now our #1 restaurant on property.
It is a beautiful setting, with warm friendly waitstaff and delicious food. I love the filet and Mac n Cheese. I also love the coffee chicken flatbread appetizer.
On our last trip we shared a bottle of wine, recommended by our waiter and it was great.
On that visit I did not notice any children in the restaurant. It was a quiet, pleasant meal.
Enjoy

This is one of my top 3 places to eat at WDW. And everyone we have ever taken there has loved it also. We will not get to go there in Jan since we are taking our grandson who cannot sit still for 2 hours but when it's all adults, we always go. The place is gorgeous and the food is good. I think the best single dish on property is the chantarelle soup here. I also love the Taste of Africa appetizer and the sampler appetizer platter (that is not on the menu but they will do for you). I am not a beef eater but do enjoy the filet with mac n cheese here very much, I have not been as impressed with some of the other entrees I have tried. And try some of the wine here, we always enjoy a bottle or three.

Thanks so much! I really can't wait to try it! All the suggestions you all have made regarding the food sound amazing!:goodvibes

It is our favorite WDW restaurant. I also always get the filet with mac and cheese. My DH found his favorite wine ever at Jiko's based on a recommendation there- De Toren Fusion V from South Africa. If you have any room for dessert, try the pistachio creme brulee. Excellent.

It has an EXCELLENT wine cellar. Well, I'm not sure about the cellar, but the wine selection is awesome -

Best restaurant on Disney property. Service, Food, atmosphere. Everything about it is great

we were there for our 05 trip when ds was 4 and dd was 2, we were there 2 hours and kids were fine. They provided stuff to keep them busy and they loved the food. The adults thought it was best meal of that trip...... enjoy

We ate there last week and it was the best meal of the trip. I had the Filet, DH had ribs. We also had the cheese platter sampler and some fabulous wine. The restaurant was about half full the entire time we were there and we had great service.

Our kids then were 3 and 6..I didn't have a problem with them. I'm not a steak eater dh is. He liked the filet with the mac and cheese but he said the best steak is at Yatchsman. I had the lamb it was good not great. What I really enjoyed was the olive flatbread. It was great! I think Jiko is good but not worth 2 credits of the dining plan. I would rather go to Boma for 1 credit and save the other for another restaurant!

Thanks everyone! It really sounds so good! I'm glad we decided to try it!:goodvibes
