Tell me about your Tassimo Brewing machine

This thread will probably get buried because I realize most people have a Keurig and not a Tassimo. I jumped on the bandwagon and asked for a Keurig for Christmas. Now, I'm second guessing myself after seeing a Tassimo and watching a video on it at BB&B. I love the thick & frothy flavored coffees. The Tassimo can make these and the Keurig can't.

How about upkeep, coffee and tea flavors, price, availability and reliability? I love chai tea. Is that any good with the Tassimo? Do you love your Tassimo?? Which model do you have?

I have two models - the old Braun one and the new Bosch one that came out first about 3 years ago- no LED read-out. Both are FANTASTIC. When I got the Bosch one, my husband took the Braun one to work and still uses it daily.

Upkeep - easy! Wipe down the disc area, and run water through the nozzle, especially after milk drinks.

Coffee - Love! We mainly get Starbucks Verona and Latte Primo. We also use Henry's Blend. You can find them at Kohl's, Target, some Wal-Marts, Lowe's and BB&B.

Price - Haven't really compared it to Keurig, so I'm not sure.

Availability - BB&B has the best stock. I am on auto-delivery from Tassimo just to make it easy.

Both of my machines run like champs! Really no trouble from them at all. (knock on wood!)

My daughter likes Chai Tea, and she's used the Tassimo one and likes it. It's a little too sweet for her. That would be her only complaint.

Thanks for the info! I'm all for being able to easily make a carmel latte macchiato!!! I'm still trying to decide what to do.

Looks like the difference between the basic model and the suprema is that the suprema has a built in water filter. Are there any other major differences?

Anyone else have one that can comment???

Yeah, basically they are like this:

Machine
Machine with filter
Machine with LED read-out and filter

To me the LED is unecessary, but I do like having the filter!

I just bought one a few weeks ago as a Christmas present and love it so far! I also had planned on buying a Keurig, but was swayed to the Tassimo after seeing a demonstration at BB&B. We use our traditional coffee maker in the morning since we each drink several cups, but if we have coffee in the evening or weekends, we like lattes and cappacinos as well as regular coffee, so this seemed to fit our needs the best. With a 20% off coupon and a $50 rebate, it ended up being less than $90. My DD7 loves the hot chocolate in it as well.

I bought the Bosch Tassimo last Christmas and it's great. I like that I can make coffee, lattes, espressos, etc. The chai tea is really good!
The keurig can only make coffee....no specialty coffees.

My girlfriend bought the Keurig and then months later, she bought a Krups so she could make lattes. Now she has two machines sitting on her counter.

I bought my Tassimo Friday and love it so far. I'm a latte girl and this has been great so far. I bought the latte primo by Starbucks and have only had that...can I add that it's even better with a shot of Caramel Baileys? It's a Christmas thing at our house.

My son just bought this machine. I like the fact that it does steamed milk but the chai tea has artificial sweetener in it and I can't take it. I have a really good chai tea that I make up myself and then finish it off with the steamed milk. I don't drink coffee so the othe stuff doesn't interest me. He however really likes the machios? coffee. My daughter uses it to make regular coffee and at Christmas my other daughter will like the decaf. My sil will probably like the espresso. Since I don't drink coffee I don't usually have coffee around the house. Now we will be able to offer it.

i am hoping to get one.. just don't know which one for myself...

i needed to get one for a xmas gift so i ended up with a tassimo.. so will have to wait and see if the person likes it .. i myself want one but will have to wait...unless a great deal comes along !

I love mine. It's the Bosch model. I don't drink coffee, but I LOVE the Chai Tea Lattes! The Earl Grey is awesome as well...I DO add some more water to the cycle for the E.G., it's a bit strong for me, but I'm a "weak tea" girl...It's easy to do. My girls (12 and 8) love the Chai Tea Lattes as well...

The ONLY criticism I have is the hot chocolate tastes like the watery stuff at ice rinks....I tried to get the "Milka" type from Europe, but the friend who was supposed to buy it and ship it to me flaked, and eBay is too expensive.

My dh loves the coffee....

One caveat...the "milk" for the cappaccinos CAN go bad...it's something I bought for occasional guests, and it had gone bad by the time I used it...I wonder if you could freeze them or something? It HAD been a fair length of time though, so I don't hold it against Tassimo!

Cleaning is simple as pie. Put the cleaning disk in, and run it. That easy.

I found it to be cheaper all around than the Keurigs...I did a fair amount of research before deciding on my Tassimo. I believe a package of Tassimo Chai Tea Lattes (8) is $9.99. E.G. Tea is about $4.99(10 or 12, can't remember?) You also get a coupon for two free Tassimo packs of your choice when you register your Tassimo.

Thanks for the input! I'm pretty sure I want a Tassimo vs a Keurig, but the Keurig has arrived in the mail. It's stills sitting in the delivery box! Our BB&B is sold out of Tassimo machines right now. Bummer!

I'm a starbucks latte girl, but I LOVE my keurig! However, it broke, and I had to drag out my $200 cuisinart regular coffee machine, and I can't stand the taste of my coffee. I called keurig, and they're shipping me a new one for free - I can't wait! BTW, it was 1 1/2 years old, I didn't have the receipt, and I didn't have to ship it back to them.
