Many of my friends and clients have invested in a Peloton bike during Covid. They all LOVE it.
I just moved and now have room for an exercise bike.

Do you love your Peloton? Is there any other brands you suggest? I see a lot of similar options on Amazon.

I am not a hard core exercise enthusiast, but am hoping I will take advantage of having a bike in the house for early morning or late night rides.

We have a run of the mill exercise bike, I like it but it’s certainly not in Peloton’s class. Made by Schwinn I think. Been invaluable with gyms being closed. That said, eventually I think we’ll upgrade to a Peloton.

Following. My Peloton comes next Friday. Prior to the Covid I attended Orangetheory on a regular basis and got in pretty good shape. I am looking to lose my Covid 25 by summer.

I love my Peloton. I was going to get a Schwinn because it’s a good bike and cheaper, but my husband talked me into the Peloton. We both use it daily. I would buy it again.

I've got an IC4 and I use the Peloton app on an ipad. Decent bike, would buy it again.

Love my Peloton! I use it several times a week. I was riding it everyday, but I got a Mirror for Christmas, so I am mixing it in with that.

My DW and DS18 insisted we get a Peloton. I was against it because $$$. It seemed...excessive. Well we got one, and you know what? I love it. I use it every day, as well as the other classes that are offered on the app. You know what they say about exercise equipment and classes - the best ones are the ones you use. It's totally worth the extra cost. I WOULD NOT splurge for the latest model (Bike+). Save the money. The only thing you get with that is the resistance changes automatically and the screen rotates around. The resistance - I kinda like having the control to adjust it myself, and the adjustment on the Peloton is really smooth. As for the screen, if you don't have a smart TV or a computer in the same room, then OK, but if you do (and why wouldn't you?), then you can do all the classes on your TV/computer that you can on the bike screen. i.e. it's not a big value to rotate the screen on the bike so you can see it from the rest of the room. It's all integrated to your account so you do get "credit" for the classes no matter what you use.

So why not use an off-brand bike and the TV for the classes? Because when you ride the Peloton bike all of the data from the bike ride is saved. You will know that you took the ride on any other bike and MAYBE you can figure out your resistance settings so they are equivalent (kinda doubt that though), but you will not see all the data from your ride or know what your best rides are. You also won't be able to see your data on the leader board and I find that is a huge motivator. The other thing I really love is the Powerzone rides. You do one of the PZ evaluation rides (a hard-as-you-can-go for 20 minutes ride), then your "zones" are all set up on the bike. when you take a Powerzone ride class, all you have to do is look at the screen to know which of your zones you are in as the instructor goes from zone to zone. LSS - splurge on the Peloton bike - don't skimp on that.

Then there's the other classes. These are great. I do a lot of the core and body-weight strength classes, my DW does a lot of the meditation classes. They also have yoga, running (my DW has done those and loves them), weight training, etc. The classes are well worth the monthly fee alone, let alone also using the classes on the bike. The other thing is we dropped all of the other fitness clubs, classes, etc. because the Peloton classes are one price and everyone gets to use them. Other than the bike we are definitely saving money over what we used to pay.

When you buy a Peloton you are not really buying the bike, you are buying the ecosystem. Everyone I know that bought one loves it and most of their spouses that were against it love it to.

Personally I would rather invest in a direct drive smart trainer but I already have a good road bike and would rather do something like Zwift but it is just a matter of preference.

Love, love, LOVE my Mirror!

I don’t have a Peloton but I’d say at least half the people in my Mirror group do and they say they wouldn’t be without it. It was on my research list but in the end I decided I didn’t want to give up the space for a bike. If I had a dedicated room for exercise only I’d get one in a heartbeat.

Sure don't need no stink'n ;o) Peloton down here in SW FL. This 70yo went out yesterday at 1:54AM to begin the bicycle ride to close out my January rides. Finished with another century ride of 105.48 miles.

Year round cycling is one of the few things I miss about living in FL.

I started with an inexpensive spin bike. Hated it and thought I hated spin bikes, then I used a friend's Peloton and totally understood why everyone (including me now) raves about them. You can find them used and in good shape if the cost new is prohibitive.

We purchased the Schwinn IC4 and pair it with the peloton app and love it. It is less than half the price of the Peloton and the peloton app is $13 a month. The quality of the bike is excellent and while the resistance doesn’t match up with the Peloton, we have a small resistance conversation chart where we can see it and is no big deal to adjust.
The peloton app tracks our workouts, speed, heart rate, etc. Like a previous poster mentioned, you can not appear on the leaderboard in workouts, but that does not bother me one bit. We use the bike most every day. The variety of workouts in the app are great, we have instructors we love.

The cost hurts but is doable. The 8-10 week wait is what makes me want to look elsewhere. im Not finding any used ones by me (southern New England)

Have you tried FB Market? There arena bunch for sale near me. Otherwise, I know the wait stinks, but in the long run its worth it to get what you really want.

My son recently bought an echelon bike. He loves it and it was considerably less than the peleton. He does not spend his money easily so he did lots of research and decided for the price it was the best option.

ETA: As much as I have looked at these. My DH is a big guy 6'10" and weighs 330. He is not able to use one of these at all.

I got the Echelon bike too and it was about 1700.00. Much less than a Peleton. Great ride and I am hooked on Tabata. Named after a Japanese hockey coach..... (it is 20 second sprints 10 second rest). I find a 20-30 minute workout is plenty!!! I really want to purchase a rower next.

You and my son would get along well. He stalks facebook marketplace for a rower. In the fall he asked us to drive 2 hours to buy one for him but the person realized how cheap they priced it and he wasn't willing to pay the extra money for the used rower.
