I am in the market for a new brand of eyeshadow. I was using MAC but I'm not digging the colors lately. I have tried Maybelline, Cover Girl, Revlon but they never seem to stay on. I picked up a noname brand at an outlet before the holidays and it's awesome (great color, stays on) but I can't find it anywhere except online and you know how the color varies in person.

I LOVED Chanel and don't mind paying that much because it lasts so long but their colors seem to be very limited.

Any other suggestions? I think I'm going to head to Sephora tonight and would love to hear some opinions first.

I am really into Lancome right now. I got a sampler in a gift with purchase and actually ended up likeing it enough to buy more.

I find it really goes on well with a brush and stays on. I really like the colors too. they have a lot of single colors to pick from.

I picked up some Urban Decay eyeshadow last month and like it.

I use Bare Minerals....I personally like it but I use their entire make-up line.

I've been buying MAC, but I also have a lot of "gift with purchase" palettes. What I use most is MAC, Bobbi Brown, Lancome...

my favorite shimmery green is from Skinmarket, which, alas, is no more. I also have a 3 color compact from Garden Botanika. I've used Ulta, but I don't really like the texture. I have a Maybelline palette which is ok, but I like the texture of other brands better. I've recently started using Revlon Diamond Lust for extra sparkle. Smashbox makes a good eyeshadow as well.

I like to mix up my colors, so all my eyeshadows last a long time, as I don't use the same ones day in and day out.

Texture-wise, my favorite hands down is any color of MAC Veluxe Pearl. It goes on silky smooth. I also really like Bobbi Brown, although the colors are limited.

HTH! :thumbsup2 I love makeup!

edited to add: the trick to making your eyeshadow last all day, all night, and still look good the next morning is to use a base. I used to have travelling eyeshadow that would settle into a greasy line in the crease of my eye. I was then introduced to MAC Paint (it comes in a tube). I use the color Bare Canvas everyday under my eyeshadow. As oily as my eyes are, my eyeshadow (any brand) looks just as good the next day as the day I put it on (I have a tendency to fall asleep without taking my makeup off). Put it on with a clean finger. I completely and totally swear by this stuff...

I'd recommend an eyeshadow base. It will make any eyeshadow you use go on easier, look more professional, and last MUCH longer.
