Tell me about your experience - late Jan./early Feb. 2018

I have been to WDW 5 times and 4 of those times have been January/February - 1/27-1/31/15, 1/30-2/6/16, 1/27-2/4/17 and 1/27-2/2/18. This year was the most crowded by far (PeopleMover had a line for the first time I have seen) but we rope drop and get a lot done in the morning. I was able to pull subsequent fastpasses which really helped a lot. I remember Brazilian tour groups in 2015, but have noticed cheer/dance groups more often. The dance groups appear leading up to the weekends. I judge my trips by the weather usually - 2015 was beautiful with cold nights though, 2016 was near the 80s for most of the trip, 2017 was cold at the beginning and warming up at the end, but had one of our lowest crowd days (rain in the 50s kept most of the locals home I think) and 2018 had some rain with a cold night that I had to buy a blanker for. Would I go again? Maybe not, but I live in Michigan and will go insane if I don't get some warmth in the winter. Even 50s are better than 20s so I take what I can get and the crowds and weather that go with it.

I'm from Michigan and I live in Canada now so I completely get this! :) We were there that same week in 2016 I believe! I do remember a fair amount of Brazilians on that trip and a LOT of cheerleading groups towards the end of the week. The cheerleading groups were pretty annoying our last day in AK because they moved as massive groups everywhere and it was sometimes hard to get around!

DW and I were there in January of 2018 from 1/20-1/27. Stayed at BWV. It wasn't on purpose, but we ended up avoiding the parks with AM EMH. We always got to a park at or before opening and took breaks during the afternoon. With our ADRs and taking advantage of multiple additional FP+ after using our first 3, we never really waited in line for much. I don't recall seeing many large tour groups, but that may just have been the luck of park selection on a given day. It was crowded, but not any more than it was when we went in early December of 2016. We never really had problems with bus service from BWV, except on the way back from Disney After Hours on our last night. We are returning the same time in 2019.

I was just there from 1/29-2/3, stayed at AKL. We left for all the parks early before rope drop, and never saw more than like 5 other people waiting for the bus with us. I didn't think the crowds were bad. Maybe not as low as people expect, but nothing crazy by any means, though. Most parks we got on all the rides in under 20 minutes and were able to keep picking up good FP's. Only park we had an issue with was HS - the lines got really long really quick, and since only like three rides are currently running, it just wasn't the best option. Weather was also really iffy. One day we absolutely froze once the sun set, while the other days we were sweating.
