Tell me about Trails End buffet!!

Not many people seem to mention it, so I am wondering if that means it is
not popular or what

I found it kind of a pain to get to. It may be a little more inexpensive than other TS on property, but my time is valuable in WDW and Trail's End takes too much time to get to.

It is a little far out but we enjoy it. We go out to Fort Wilderness for the petting zoo and pony rides so we like to catch to quick breakfast at Trail End while we are there. It's nice and relaxing there and the food is good.

We ate dinner there this past June. We really liked it and our server, Gary, was outstanding..one of WDW's best. The food was good...not as big a selection as other buffets but a great value for the price. It was not hard to get to..we just took the Ft. Wilderness boat from MK. Then it's a 2 min. walk from the boat launch. Easy as pie. We are going to try it for breakfast next year!

We are going there in a couple weeks on a non-park day.

We scheduled an early ADR for dinner, and then we're going to explore Ft Wilderness until time for the campfire.

I wanted to ask you how quick is the breakfast? We are staying at FW and considering breakfast for departure day. We are visiting DTD that day and want to off to an early start.

We went there before going to the camp sing a long. We had a fun time.

We went there for breakfast once. I think its the cheapest breakfast buffet at WDW, around $12 I think. The food was more the good enough for the price.

We love Trail's End and try to get there when we can. Before DVC, we used to stay at the Fort and it was a regular stop for us. The selection isn't as large as some of the other Disney buffets but the atmosphere is nice and the food is good. They even take ADRs now. I guess the only negative thing I would say is that at dinner the dessert selection used to be much less than other Disney buffets - but I don't really need 10 desserts anyhow!

We love Trail's End, eat b'fast there 1 or 2 times each trip. Yes, it's out of the way, and yes, my time at WDW is valuable also. But I'm not rushing around WDW like a madman while I'm there, after all it is still a vacation. We have a sit down b'fast every day at WDW and hit the parks when we're done.
I have no desire to arrive at a park at opening and haven't done "rope drop" in 10-15 years.

If you'd like a quiet, relaxing start to a day then go. If you're in a hurry to see and do everything you can then skip it.

1) Trail's End is probably the best restaurant value at WDW.
2) Very reasonably priced WDW food.
3) And that is tough to say in the same sentence.
4) We like Trail's End
. . . very rustic environment
. . . reasonably priced
. . . casual and "homey" feel
. . . lots of good comfort food
. . . reasonably priced

NOTE: Fort Wilderness is a real life campground. Sure, attached to WDW. But, a real campground. Campgrounds typically have comfort food at a good prices. This is no different.

We're definitely in the minority here. We tried it last year and absolutely hated it. It was much less expensive than any other buffet at WDW, very true. And, there were several dishes which classify as "comfort food". Those 2 reasons are why we tried them. We thought the quality of the food was very much a let-down. Most of the food on all 4 of our plates was left and we ended up leaving and going back to eat at the food court at the Contemporary. Yep, we did pay for our entire bill - they provided all they promised, we simply didn't like it, no we did not take it out on the server - it's not her fault we didn't like the food.

Then again, we stopped going to the LTT about 3 years ago because we didn't like the food there much either.

If you go, I hope you enjoy it, it's always great to find a good value for your family at WDW.

We always stay in the cabins so usually stop at Trails End for one breakfast and one lunch or dinner. We really enjoy it but if I were staying somewhere else I wouldnt go there. Breakfast is always good. The wait staff is always great. The same people have been working there for years and they even remember us when we come in. I find that amazing. Dinner is usually good. We have had a range from ok to REALLY good. Lunch is ok.

The horses are at the front of FW & Trail's End is in the Pioneer Hall section, so you just have to take a bus to Trail's End. It's really not inconvenient, at least I don't think so.

Breakfast offers all kinds of things.............fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast, muffins, donuts, eggs, bacon, home fries, biscuits & grits, Mickey waffles, breakfast pizza, (they used to have french toast, but I think you may have to ask for it now if they even do offer it any more).

Drinks are includes with the price..........coffee, tea, juice, milk.

We enjoy a relaxing breakfast & love eating there at least once during each trip.

melsmice answered most of your questions. You can also get to Trail's End by boat from MK, CR or WL; this is easier than taking a bus from the fromt of FW, where thr ranch is located. Trail's End is right next door to Hoop-Dee-Doo.

I thought it was the best deal I've had for a lunch buffet on all of WDW. Very good food! Our server was SLOOOOOOOOW, and yes, we dipped the tip appropriately, but the rest of it was great.

It's not that hard to get to at all. Just take the boat from MK there. Was worth the time to head over IMO.

Yeah but Ruthie is coming from the horses which are at the front. Take any internal bus from the outpost (the big bus stop by the horses).

They all have the same final destination, the Settlement. Thats where Trail's End is..

Steve, you do make a good point. It's easy to forget sometimes that even at WDW, a restaurant can have an off night. Reading all of the good comments on here, has gotten me thinking about it again. For the great cost savings, it may be worth checking out again. Hmmmm...... could be this is another of those moments when I forged an opinion too soon .

We leave for our vacation in only 11 more days, so maybe we can still get seating and try them out again.

We love the cabins but have never rented a golf cart. We are just barely afford the cabins but no way could do a cart too. I'm sure it would be fun but not necessary.
