I'm bringing my 11 year old Step Son for a long weekend in 2 weeks! We have part of an arrival day (thinking ESPN Club for dinner and boardwalk atmosphere). Doing HS on our 1 park day. And have decided to do a Free Day for the 2nd full day. We're going to ride the monorail and the skyliner, check out the animals at AKL and spend some time at Disney Springs. The Void looks so cool!! Has anyone done it? Do you have to book in advance?

We did it last February on a fairly busy Saturday evening at the Springs, and we were able to walk up, and our group was not full. Did the star wars one, my 10 yo and I really enjoyed it. I was quite surprised to feel that the when you got hit with a lazer in the game, they gave you a little jolt in the suit. I'd do it again.
I think the big advantage of signing up online is it saves you from having to do it on a tablet at the venue and saves time that way.

Oh great! Was curious if it was worth the price tag! Glad to know we can decide when we're there.

I’d book if it’s important to you to go, but with a party of two you should definitely be fine day of. It is amazing though, my kids have made it a must-do for every trip now. I’m not a Star Wars fan so I did the Ralph one and it was so fun. It is expensive though, but everything at Disney is!

Our group of 10 did the Star Wars one and loved it! In fact, some of the Star Wars fans went back and did it a second time.

Our party of 4 booked in advance for a Tuesday afternoon last February, but probably didn’t need to... we all loved it (2 super Star Wars fans and 2 casual fans) and would consider doing it again if we have the time/energy/budget this trip.

Have it scheduled for our upcoming trip, we booked reservations online for our party of 6 just to make sure we could get in when we wanted. The hubby and I did the Star Wars one last year, and it was phenomenal, best virtual reality experience I have ever done.

I did it last December then again with my little cousins at The Void in DC a few weeks ago. It's not necessarily something that I would find worth the money to repeat the same scenario, but it is most definitely worth the money to do it once. It's an incredible experience and you won't get that level of immersion anywhere else. I would highly recommend trying it.

Couple years ago. Just walked up, no reservations. The experience was amazing!!! My group messed up and they had to restart us, but still it was fantastic.

I was just looking at The Void yesterday! When I looked at booking reservations online, it looked like you could only make a reservation for weekdays. Are weekends walk-up only?

I did it solo a few months back. I considered booking it online but decided not to. Since I was by myself they had an employee go with me. I did the Ralph Breaks VR version. Great fun. I ended up taking my sister for her birthday to a location near us.

Looks to me like you make reservations for weekends.

We have done it twice, and it is grandsons' favorite Orlando attraction. I am wondering, though, how it will hold up next trip against Rise of the Resistance.

Thinking about maybe doing The Void on our next trip. My grandsons, ages 16, 14 and 12 are not into Star Wars. That being said, do you think it would still be fun for them to do the Star Wars VR game or would they be better off doing the Ralph VR game? I don't know, wondering if they're maybe too old for Ralph :scratchin

Star Wars is available nearly everywhere the Void operates (we have it here in NY). Ralph can only be done in Orlando.

That said...why don’t you ask them? None of us know your grandkids and what their interests are, and making assumptions about that based on their age is weird. Plenty of teenagers love Wreck it Ralph because of the gaming references.

I went solo on a previous trip (accompanied by a CM so I wouldn't have to go alone) and loved it. Although it's a little pricey, I'm planning to take the whole family on our upcoming trip. I think the attraction lasted about 20 minutes once you actually enter the maze (there's also the "pre-show"/registration and suiting up that takes some time), which sounds a little short for the price, but the experience didn't feel to me like it was short-changed. It had a good pace and story line with what I considered to be an awesome finale. Overall, I felt it was worth the cost and am willing to pay for it again (x5).

It's really immersive... objects are not just images, they are physically there. When you see a droid, you can reach out and touch it. When you grab a blaster rifle from a rack in the armory, it's really there. Effects such as real heat, vibrations to simulate moving vehicles, and actually being hit by the laser blasts all add up to make this a great attraction!

I was worried before going in that it was like a laser tag contest/video game and asked to make sure getting hit by the lasers wouldn't cause you to "lose" the game. It doesn't. With that in mind, I did some dodging and weaving to avoid being shot but, to be honest, getting hit was fun to experience too.

If your kids are Star Wars fans, I would highly recommend that one. I haven't done the Wreck-It Ralph version. I'm sure it's entertaining, but I can't imagine it having the same "wow" factor, especially if someone is a SW fan. That said, if it's more geared toward "Slaughter Race" and less "Sugar Rush," I could see it appealing to older kids.

I had heard about it a couple of years ago and had been wanting to try it. Didnt get around to it in Vegas but am planning to there.

We really enjoyed the experience, and I thought that although it was expensive, it was a good value for the money. I would not think you have to make reservations ahead of time unless you’re going during a particularly busy time. Particularly if you go to the Void in the late morning or early afternoon, you would be fine. You might check and see if they’re offering any discounts ror booking ahead.

Wondering this as well. Also, can I use Disney gift cards to pay for the Void?

I don’t know this for sure, but I doubt it. The company that runs the Void is a separate vendor, not Disney owned.
