Not the Ramada Maingate that's right next to the entrance, but the one that's a mile from the park (yet on the ART line). Clean? Scary? What's the continental breakfast like? Noisy? Slept well? Never again?

We're staying there for my quickie birthday trip next weekend (YAY!!) because they're cheap and still have rooms, but I can still change things around if it's actually an awful place.

I stayed there with my husband for one night in May simply because we didn't want to drive back to San Diego late at night. It was only $59. It definitely only felt like we paid $59 ;) It was definitely, um, ghetto. It was perfectly fine for what we needed it for - a place to sleep - but I wouldn't want to stay there multiple nights, or stay there with a family. The front desk was really nice, but the rooms were really dirty, peeling paint, etc. etc. No bugs or rats or anything, just not exactly great. The bed was pretty dingy and the air conditioner in our room didn't really work - loud wall unit that didn't keep it cool. I'd say a low 2-star hotel? When we stayed, it said they were undergoing a renovation, but I have no idea what that entails or when it might be done. Not terrible, not unsafe, but I wouldn't stay there again I don't think.

That, plus a few other reviews I found today, has convinced me that we need to find a different hotel. Thanks!
