Tell me about the Princess makeover

My 4 year old loves all things princess and dressing up. I know she would love the princess makeover. From what I've been able to find the Bibbidi Bobbidi hairstyles are bun, some sort of fake hair ponytail poof or a hair extension thing. I've only seen the bun one in person years ago. My DD has fine curly hair that's about at her shoulders but when it's wet it's about halfway down her back. I don't think it would work well in a bun and she loves her curls so I'm not sure she'd like it. I found a blog with the Elsa braid from the boutique at DTD which looked really pretty but I'm not sure if that's an extension or If the girl had enough of her own hair for it. I can't even do her hair in a simple braid yet because it's too wispy. That same blog though said the DTD experience isn't as magical as BB. I don't know when we will be going back so I want to do one while it will still be magical for her. I had no idea reservations are 60 days out and longer for hotel guests I think, we are staying at DH the last week of September so hopefully I can still get reservations but I know I should probably get a move on. She does love Frozen but she also loves the other princesses so she'd be happy either way and I'm excited to surprise her. I know it's a lot of time but I think we should have enough time in which to lose park time. Any advice on which experience to go with? Thanks!!

My niece has shoulder-length, thin, curly hair, and recently did the Anna style at the DTD Anna and Elsa's Boutique. It's a braid up front with a "bun" (more like a pulled-through pony tail in her case) in back (based off Anna's coronation hairstyle). It looked great and she loved it. I'd post a pic but don't have permission to spread my nieces' pics around.

Disregarding the hairstyles, BBB is way more of an "experience." They have fairy godmothers doing the transformation, magical mirrors, everyone's in princess dresses, it's just a whole magical experience. If you pay for the castle package, you're escorted to the front of the line to meet the princesses in the royal hall and they do a whole presentation type of thing. Elsa and Anna - it's just girls in black shirts that say "elsa and anna's boutique" and they do the hair and that's it. It's fun because it's Frozen but unless 1. you don't have a park ticket to get into BBB or 2. money is a concern or 3. it's an older girl who wants her hair done but isn't as into the "magic" of it, I would choose BBB every time. FWIW I have a 5 year old daughter, who is princess obsessed, and we have given her the choice the last couple of times and after visiting both she likes BBB better. And she loves Frozen. It really is just way more magical and they make it a "princess transformation", whereas E&A is more of "get your hair done like a princess."

ETA especially if she's 4. I really would do BBB.

Thanks! I saw the boutique when it had just opened at DTD and it definitely didn't seem magical! Does anyone know if you can make adjustments to the hair style options? Like could we just have the top half of her hair pulled back in a bun? So it was half up/half down. I think that would suit her better. It looks like I really need to get going on a reservation but how do you decide without knowing the park schedule so far in advance? We are staying at DLH so we will have the extra magic hours to play with but with the potential for the Halloween parties at night I'm perplexed at my ticket options. Usually I just buy like a 4 day park hopper so we can just go wherever but that might not make sense with the park closing so early. If I knew the schedule for that week it would be so much easier to plan. She has said she wants to be Arielle for Halloween and we don't have her dress so it would be perfect to do that on the day I was thinking of splurging on the Halloween ticket too. Would reservations know the schedule for hours and the Halloween parties so far in advance even if we can't see it?

I'm not sure about cancellation policy, but would it be possible to make multiple reservations and then cancel the ones you don't need once all the dates come out?
