Tell me about the Princess Half Kids Races!

I'm already making plans for next year and my 6 year old granddaughter really wants to do one of the kid's races. Can anyone who did either the Friday or Saturday Princess kid's race tell me about it? Could you, for example, do both the 10k and then watch the kid's race? Do they start from the same general area or are they complexly separate? I'd like to do the 10k Saturday but I want to see my DGD run too.

Hi! My 4 year old son ran the Kids Races (200m dash) during Princess weekend. We did the Friday race, which was after my wife's 5K. Very well organized and lots of fun! Already registered for future races!

I also heard there was a race after the 10K on Saturday as well. I ran the 10K but did not stick around to watch the little ones race! I think this is an excellent thing to get kids involved in. The kids get to go to packet pick up and get a t-shirt and bib number just like the "big runners" and every child gets a finishers medal as well. It's great!

Also I wanted to mention that Disney holds these kids races during every race weekend, not just during princess weekend! So there are lots of opportunities for the kids to participate!

So was your wife able to finish the 10k and then get over to see your son's race? I'm hoping to do both but will miss the 10k if I have to. I just don't want to give up that Glass Slipper medal next year!

His pictures are really cute!

I did the 10k on sat and had plenty of time to get over to see my son run in his race (200m dash). I actually was waiting and waiting for my family, not the other way around! You should be fine, even if you were in the last corral and u took the maximum time to finish. The kids finish line was the same finish line we used for the 10k so the 10k runners have to be finished before the kids races start. I was in corral b, ran it in about 85 min, ate something, stretched, changed clothes, and still waited for my family to arrive.

I did the GSC this year, but was glad that I had my kids in the Friday kids races instead of Saturday. If you can get there on the Thursday to hit up the expo, it worked perfectly for us to do the three days of races. There is a ton of hurry-up-and-wait related to Disney and the kids races in general; it was nice to be able to focus on them for one day and on myself the next.

My wife had ran the 5K on Friday, not the 10K, so she and her best friend were finished and waiting on us to arrive for the kids race. There was plenty of time between the two! :)

That's a good thought. We're trying to decide whether to come in Thursday or Friday.

Our son did the 100M kids race on Saturday. I ran the 10k, took the bus back to POP to get everyone ready, took the bus back to EPCOT and still had plenty of time before his race started. We had a great time, it's his second year (he was 3 this year) and loves his medal!

Great! I toyed with the idea of skipping the 10k, but I really want to do the GSC next year. And I really don't want to tie up three days with races-- I did that this year, but being solo it was easy.
