I didn't post this on the Resort Board, because I wanted to get info from families with younger children. I just changed our ressies to POP for our December trip. This trip will just be me, dd7, and ds5. I don't swim very well, and my children don't know how to swim at all. Is there an area in the pool where the water isn't that deep? Does POP give out life jackets for the kids?

I requested a "preferred" room at POP, so I think that is the 50's or 60's building (not sure).

There are 3 pools at Pop. My kids were 7 and 5 as well last year when we went. They only wanted to go to the flower pool so I am not sure how deep the other 2 are. There were life jackets for the kids, my 7 year old could touch no problem, my 5 year old could only touch around the edges. A few times the life guards gave them pool noodles as well.

It's shallow on the first set of stairs and as you walk down the stairs, the pool gets deeper. I think it's maybe 3' deep in the shallow end and as you walk towards the middle, it gets deeper. However, the main pool is the Hippy Dippy Pool, shaped like a flower and located in the center of the resort. There is a smaller kiddie pool located behind this one.

The pools start at around 3 feet deep. You can sign out a life jacket for your length of stay. My little one likes the fountains near the food court better than the pools. It was really hard to get him away from there.

My 5 year old loved the hippy dippy pool. She had a lifejacket and was not afraid at all. She also loved the kids pool and the pop jet play area. So much water fun at the resort, she didn't want to go to the parks!

My DD and Dh loved the Hippy Dippy Pool...she wore the life vest with Dh or I in the water, there is a kid's water play area off to the side as well.

We also stayed in the preferred rooms (60's) building. My son is an avid swimmer so I can't help too much with the depth but he LOVEd it and never wanted to go check out any of the other pools. We also loved the fun atmosphere of this pool. We are going back next month and I can't wait !! :cool1:
