Tell me about the Humunga-Kowabunga at TL

I've heard all about the Crushin' Gusher, but nothing about the Humunga-Kowabunga. What is it like?

It's tall, straight and fast!! We were there in 1999, DS was just shy of 9 and small for his age. He & DH were waiting at the top & 3 people in front of them looked down & said NO WAY!!! DS couldn't get on fast enough, not a fear bone in his body.

I remember something like 120 feet down at 60 miles an hr at some rediculously steep angle. Be sure to check your suit before you get out!!

I asked the experts, that is - my sons and they liked it a lot. It is an enclosed straight down water slide. There are three slides next to each other. They said it is fast and a little scary, but fun. We love Typhoon Lagoon!

Thanks - I will remember to check my suit! I'm such a ride wimp that this trip I'm going to try a lot of the rides I normally wouldn't, and this one is on my list. The only problem I would have with it is climbing to the top. I hate heights!

I was really really scared to do it, especially when I got to the top and looked down--it looked crazy! steep. But....when I actually did it--I didn't think it was that bad--it didn't feel as long or steep as it looked. Now, that being said I had a major wedgie, lol, one entire butt cheek was exposed, and there is no nice/polite way to get a swimsuit back in place, LOL!!!!!

I decided one time down was all I needed that morning, but I would do it again on a future trip.

Basically it wasn't the feeling of the steepness that made me not want to go again, it was the feeling of the water giving me the wedgie and having to deal with that when I stood up at the bottom that kept me from doing it again.

The climb is not that bad as you are in the mountian sorta as you walk unlike the steps of other higher slides.

I'm a heights chicken and loved this ride. However, it was really embarrassing to have to pick out a double wedgie. Yes suit and shorts got stuck tight.

So, would you recommed getting some sort of swim short to put over the one-piece suit? But then, if everyone else is getting the wedgies, then... Oh well!

On our last trip DH went down three times. The first two times he loved it...the third time he hit his tailbone when he hit the bottom. OUCH! He had a very black and blue and very sore butt for the rest of our trip. He's not planning to go down again.
