Tell me about the Boardwalk with kids

Are there things for them to do? Would they have more fun at DTD?

During the day there is not much to do at the BW except for shopping or dining. Later in the afternoon/early evening, they open up a few carny type games that are rather expensive. There are a few acts that perform on the BW.

DTD is mainly a shopping venue with Pleasure Island an area for adults with lots of clubs and drinks. The West Side has Disney Quest (extra admission for this) and Cirque du Soleil theater. There is an AMC 24 movie theatre on the West Side as well. Several restaurants at the DTD area.

Depending on the ages of your kids they might find a few things or nothing at all to do at DTD or the BW.

Our DD8 loves the BW area. She askes to go there each trip- we usually eat dinner and hang out, watching the juggler, magician, and piano bike guy. We also like to take the boat or walk over to the other side of the lake to visit the Beach Club/Yacht Club. We usually end up watching the (high up) fireworks from Illuminations, too.

DTD is fun during the day. DD likes shopping at WOD, Once Upon A Toy, and Mickey's Mart. She could spend hours building stuff at the Lego store, and she likes DQ for a couple hours, too.

Of the 2, though, she prefers BW.

We always stay at the BW and my kids really enjoy walking the BW. They love the different acts that appear, and the games, but their favorite are the surreys. We always rent them and cruise around for awhile. They just sit and ring the bell the whole time. By the way better to rent them early in the evening before the crowds start as they hard to navigate through everyone once the BW begins filling up.
