i have read all the posts that say to go to the boardwalk. but honestly, why? what is down there?
i have never been so i am genuinely interested to know if it is something me and my 7yr old DS would be interested in doing. if not then i will skip it. please tell me what there is to do there. thank you!

The Boardwalk in WDW is meant to mimmick the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. It is a fun place to visit at night. They have vendors doing face painting, sketch artists, magicians, all kinds of stuff. You can sit outside at Big River Grille for a meal, stop & get desert & sit outside & eat it. There is also the ESPN club. You can get your daughter's portrait done in chalks at The Beach Club. You can also rent one of the tandem (?) bikes. (don't know if that's what they're called)

It is just a neat place to walk around & see. Plus, you can enter EPCOT from the Boardwalk. You can also stand on the bridge between the ESPN club & The Beach Club & watch some of the fireworks from EPCOT.

We love to go to the Boardwalk. It is less crowded than Downtown Disney & much more relaxing for an evening stroll.

The BoardWalk is beautiful. I love to just walk around and watch the Street performers. Deb's Site has some great info, start here:

We love Boardwalk. We are DVC members and our "home" is Boardwalk. Our 7 year old loves to stroll along the Boardwalk and take in the sights and sounds. She especially loves the face painting, and you must catch Carlo's show! He is a very funny showman who wanders around the boardwalk doing balancing acts. Now there are also some carnival-like games as well. We are not that impressed with the food at the restaurants though. Check out Hurricane Hannah's near the Beach Club for a great frozen drink. Go visit, you'll enjoy it!

We stayed there last September with my 7 year old DS. The shows were great and he loved watching them. One word of caution, beware of the the carnival like games - they were expensive and a 7 year old wants to play them regardless of cost. We were able to see the Epcot fireworks which was great if you don't go to the parks that day. If you can go, I would suggest it - we have alot of fun there.
