We have never stayed at the BC and was planning to go back to WDW in Sept or Oct for a 2 or 3 night stay and was wondering how this resort is. The theme, size of the rooms, location, and do the rooms have a balcony?

The location is great! We walked to Epcot all the time. Nice boat ride to MGM. Buses to MK and AK can be hit or miss. Usually a bus comes every 5-10 minutes but occassionally there are big delays. SAB is an awesome pool area, kids really love it. Not all rooms have a balcony so if you want one, make sure to request it (request is not a guarantee). There is no snack bar area like in the other resorts currently but they are adding one now. (Unless you count the pool bar and Beaches & Cream which can get very crowded) Plenty of dining options since besides the resorts restaurants (including YC), you can walk to Epcot WS and to the Boardwalk across the bridge. We really like it there but we're a little biased ;) (see my siggy)

We stayed at the Villa side of the Beach Club and it was beautiful. The theme is so peaceful and relaxing. And the pool is such a bonus. It has a sandy bottom and it's big enough so that it never seemed crowded. The proximity to Epcot is awesome, maybe a 10 minute walk which is great for Illuminations. I agree about the buses. We had to wait at least 15-20 minutes each time, we could never catch that bus when it was there! But they always came within the time frame and it was a non stop ride to MK and
AK. Highly recommended! :flower:

I would make sure you are planning on going to Epcot during your stay, so that you don't waste such a convenient walk. I enjoyed our stay there last summer. It was also nice to have the Boardwalk right there as well.

Even got my picture taken with Art the Greeter!!!!!!!! (and have him on some video as well). A really nice guy, and seemed genuinely honored that someone wanted to have their picture taken with him.

Don't forget, if you are going in October, the Food and Wine Festival will be going on. You couldn't stay in a better location. :flower:

I also loved meeting "Art the Greeter." He is so sweet and the nicest person that I have met at WDW. He stands at the lobby entrance door and just greets everyone as they walk in to the Beach Club. If you are a fan of the show Great Hotels on the travel channel, Samantha Brown stayed at the Beach Club and traded pins with Art.

The Beach Club is great. We loved our stay!!!

Enjoy your trip :wizard:

I tried to make a reservation for BC, YC or BW on 11/6 and 11/7 w/ AAA discount, and was told there's nothing available. It's the end of the F&W Festival, but not Super Soap Weekend. Why do you think it's going to be so busy then?

Iluv, that show was where I first saw Art. I knew that I had to get a picture with him when we stayed there. I still have that episode on my DishNetwork PVR. I always played that part around the time we were going (the pin trading with Art), and the kids hated it.... lol. Only got to see Art one day while we were there, but I have the picture I wanted most... hehe.

I will be the lone dissenting voice...I wasn't crazy about the Beach Club. We got an upgrade of some sort (not sure from what to what) but we landed in a huge room with a balcony so long that we could do laps on it. We enjoyed the fireworks from that balcony, and the room was lovely and clean. Still...something was missing. It took forever to walk to our room (not that this was a big deal because there was some famous baseball star and his family in the room next to ours and we often walked together, which was kind of fun), but we found ourselves making wrong turns! Us! Disney people! Getting lost in a hotel! We just never bonded with the floorplan, I guess. The resort seemed cold to us (not temperature--it was July!) and the mousekeeping staff was a bit hoity toity. We never asked for anything, but I do tend to say hello to people I pass in the hallways, and the mousekeepers mostly nodded in return, without smiling. That kind of turned us off. Naturally, we liked Stormalong Bay and the lifeguards were great. One thing I did not like was not having a food court. Beaches and Cream got old really quick. Would we go back there again? No, not even for the convenience of the walk through the International Gateway. It was just not "us," but that is why I love Disney, because there is something for every type of person under the sun, it seems! I don't regret spending time there, and would not hesitate to experience it. You may love it!

Beach Club is my FAVORITE hotel!!! We just "fit" there. I think my blood pressure drops 10 pts just when I walk thru the door!!!

I didn't find it "hoity toity"...but, I did find it elegant. A simple understated elegance that made my heart melt. I don't think I am "snobby"....I mean, my 3yr old dd thinks the ONLY store that matters is Walmart!!!....and, it didn't seem to "snooty" to me.

But, to each his own...

However...I DREAM of Beach Club!!!

We've stayed at the Beach Club several times, as well as the Yacht Club and BWV. And our preferences go in that order. I love all those properties but the Beach Club is where we fit in best. I love the bright, cheery, clean atmosphere of the Beach Club. All of the hotel can have a very long walk to your room. Make sure you request near the elevator if thats an issue for you.
We love B and C. My kids will just go and get a grilled cheese, or ice cream or anything they want. The pool is the best out of any Disney hotel.
I found the cm's in the concierge (where we just stayed) to be extremly friendly and nice and always had a greeting for us.

We stayed there during our first Disney trip last May/June. I enjoyed the location. I would get up early and jog around the lake past the Swan/Dolphin/Boardwalk.

Rooms can be a long walk down confusing hallways. We moved after our first night to a better room.

We requested a room close to the pool and lobby so we ended up on the second floor and were about the third room down so it was great. Also, don't just request a balcony-make sure you ask for a full-sized one not just the kind that's about a foot wide.

My kids loved the pool. It was great for all ages.

The only thing really lacking which we really appreciated when we moved to POR later in the trip was a food court.
