Tell me about the AAA discount...

Do they still offer this discount? I don't see much talk of it on the boards anymore I never get PIN codes and we always seem to go when other discounts are not available, the AAA discount at least gave us a small amount off. We used it on our last 2 trips during regular season and saved 15% off the room rates.

We'll be going next time in value season, is there still a AAA discount applicable and what is the % off?

Yes, as far as I know, it's still there. I think it's either 10% or 15% (probably 10 at values, 15 at mods/deluxes) but that might be seasonal. There should be info on their website.

We go is the value season and we got 20% off of our 2 bedroom villa at the BW. We tried for the 40% off pin code but there were none available for our dates and none available with the free dining. At least AAA is better than nothing - we have booked our trips through them for years now.

Is the discount only for packages or can you get one for room-only reservations?

We always book through AAA. However, I got a 40% PIN and the price came out cheaper than the AAA price. My TA booked it for us using our PIN. TA also booked our dining and park tickets. I think that the park tickets might be cheaper too by booking with AAA.

AAA is for room only. they no longer have specials on tickets. However, you can add a package on to your AAA room rate (IE, tix + dining package).

According to the 2010 AAA WDW promotional booklet the AAA rate at all Value resorts regardless of time of year is 10%. The one exception being during Holiday Season from 12-17 to 12-31 in which there are no AAA reduced rates at Value Resorts.

AAA discounts for Moderate Resorts

Value season = 20%.
Regular season = 15%
Peak and Summer seasons = 10%
Holiday season = 0%

AAA discounts for Deluxe Villas

Value and Regular seasons = 20% (SSR and OKW = 25%)
Peak season = 10% (SSR and OKW = 15%)
Holiday season = 0%

AAA discounts for Deluxe Resorts

Value season = 15% (YC, BC, BWI = 20%)
Regular season = 10% (YC, BC, BWI = 15%)
Peak season = 10%
Holiday season = 0%

AAA discounts for FW Cabins and Campsites

Value season = 20%
Regular season = 15%
Peak season = 10%
Preholiday season = 20% (11-19 to 12-16, campsites only)
Holiday season = 0%

FYI - Note that how you make a reservation is important.

You can book a room only with a AAA disocunt directly with disney directly or with a AAA agent.

However you can only book a package with a AAA discount (only the room portion gets discounted anyway) with AAA agent.

This is very good to know. Disney checked for me, and said that BLT, where we are currently booked mid October, is only showing a certain room type (Studio) as being available with a AAA room only discount. We really wanted a 1 bedroom, so I guess that option is out, or at least for the week that we wanted to go. Maybe I'll check on other weeks. Thanks for the info.!
