tell me about the 5k and half marathon :)

I use to run in high school. Trying to get back into it. I was thinking of doing the 5k in Sept. Can anyone give me some info? I've never run in one before. Do you run for a cause? Thanks!!!

You could join a team and run for a cause also, but mostly it's just a run for a really cool Disney medal. The folks who do both the 13K here and the one in WDW in January will get a special bi-coastal medal, on top of it.

The 5k is a family fun run through the parks, a little crowded and slow going if you are not up towards the front. The 1/2 marathon starts through DL the through the out streets towards Anaheim Stadium..if there's no game we get to run on the warning track, then you finish up running through DCA and through DTD to the finish line by ESPN.

It's a fun event and you receive a nice castle medal when you finish.
