I need to kick my Diet Dr. Pepper habit. I don't drink coffee - blah! So . . . tell me all about Tea. I don't know the first thing.

What are your favorites?

Since I am a tea novice/wimp, will I need to sweeten it a bunch? I don't even like Ice Tea - but the thought of something warm sounds appealing.

Here's to hoping to turn over a new (tea) leaf. :rotfl:

Harney and Sons Irish Breakfast tea. Steeped in a teapot and served in a cup with milk and a sugar cube.

(I think it is okay to post this.......if not, please delete!!)

I absolutely love peppermint tea. I'm not a real tea drinker but I love it. My two favourites are Aveda's Comfort tea and Tazo Refresh tea at Starbucks. I don't know if you are in Canada or not but my other favourite kind of tea is Chocolately Chai tea by President's Choice at Loblaw's. It is SO good. Regular chai tea is pretty good too, especially with a little milk!

I like stash's Raspberry & White tea. I also like Harney and Son's Wedding Tea. I try to drink a lot of white tea since its loaded with antioxidents and is very healthy.

When I kicked my soda habit I turned to water and Celestial Green Tea. I like making it by the pitcher and putting in the fridge better than hot. It's just little squares that you throw into your water. I usually put 2 per pitcher, 0 calories, and the taste isn't very strong, but I don't add anything with it besides the 2 packets.

My favourites are:

Peppermint Tea with sugar
Tazo Wild Sweet Orange with honey - even better with orange blossom honey
Celestial Seasonings Tangerine Zinger with honey

I like Earl Grey the best. Any version is fine with me. Right now I drink Decaf. I also like the different chamiomeal (spelled that wrong I am sure) teas. I prefer to use loose teas but they can be a pain sometimes. The Republic of Teas Earl Grey is one of my favorite bagged teas. It's the kind they have a Panera Bread.

Whole Foods is where I buy my teas.

Absolutely love the TAZO line....esp AWAKE.

I love P&G TIPS. It is a tea from the UK. Yummmy.

I love any tea with ORANGE in it. Orange Dulce by Mighty Leaf!!!

I do not like any green teas.

My favorite hot tea is Earl Grey (any brand) but right now I am drinking Bigelow Organic Imperial Earl Grey. It has something called a malva flower that makes it a little less bold. When I am in the mood for something lighter I drink Bigelow White Tea with Tangerine. It has a lighter flavor and it is especially good at soothing a scratchy throat.

This may seem a little extreme but our family cut our soft drink consumption by at least 1/2 by installing an insta-hot water tank under the kitchen sink. Somehow having the hot water at the faucet makes it as easy to grab a cup of hot tea as it is to grab a can of soda.

I drink tea instead of coffee, never learned to like it. I drink Twinnings Earl Grey and Lady Grey. Sometimes I like a regular cup of tea and I use Tetley's tea for that.

I drink it with milk and sugar. When making tea, make sure the water has come to a rolling boil before pouring it on the tea bag. You could look at getting an inexpensive teapot. The general rule is 1 teabag per cup.

It also depends if you like strong flavor, more mild, fruity.
I'm not a coffee drinker, but I drink tea like most drink coffee, several cups (at least, trying to cut back) a day.
I like a little bit stronger tea, so I like Irish Breakfast, English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Lady Grey, Prince of Wales.
I also love PG brand tea.
I also like plain old Lipton or a store brand orange pekoe tea.

I don't care for herb or fruity teas but keep them around since a lot of my friends do.

Great places to buy tea other than the average grocery store are Trader Joe's and World Market.

I don't like iced tea either, but hot tea I love!

My favorite tea is actually from WDW! At the Grand Floridian gift shop next to the back door to 1900 Park Fare I got an Alice in Wonderland tea collection, it has lots of different flavors and types like chai, earl grey, blueberry, lemon, etc. It's a great way to taste different teas and then you'll know what you like :) These are also my favorites because I don't have to add anything to them to like them.

I love a good cup of hot tea. Earl Grey or Lady Grey are good choices to start with.

My favourites are:

Peppermint Tea with sugar
Tazo Wild Sweet Orange with honey - even better with orange blossom honey
Celestial Seasonings Tangerine Zinger with honey

I like those too, about in that order. I also love, love, love, Celestial Seasonings Lemon Zinger. My top 2 cold relief teas are the peppermint and lemon zinger. I use honey in my tea too. :)

 tea, hot or cold!!

And it's Earl Grey, hot for me!! I also love Lady Grey and Darjeeling. Green teas are good (really like them cold - more refreshing than black tea IMHO). I also love a lightly flavored white tea.

And by far I prefer Twinings brand. I can tolerate most others but for some reason I can't stand Tazo. :confused3

I do have to sweeten my tea. I've tried honey instead of sugar and I've tried just about every artificial sweetener on the market but nothing compares to plain old sugar.

I can sometimes do an un-sweetened iced tea, but never hot.

Wow - thanks for all the great replies. Sounds like peppermint tea might be a great first try!

Love all the ideas - keep them coming - thanks!!!

I love Twinings tea. English breakfast and Irish breakfast are my favorites.

I drink tea both hot and cold. I sweeten hot tea with two sugar cubes.
