Please give me your reviews of Tchoup chop - Emeril's restaurant at RPH. We will be staying at Disney, but we will be taking a non-park day to go to the Disney outlets and Downtown Disney, but I thought I would surprise my mom and make a reservation for lunch at Tchoup chop. My mom loves Emeril and we watched the special on Foodtv where they showed the process of developing the restaurant. She really would like to go there.

We will have my 2 daughters with us. I looked at the menu and it looks like there is stuff we would all like to eat.

Two words - go there!!!!!

This is, without doubt, IMHO, the best restaurant in town. The place itself is simply stunning and the food is even better. We sat there for at least half an hour just in awe of the decor and furnishings, and then the quality of the menu and the wonderful nature of the food just left us amazed. The whole experience was utterly unforgettable - and that was just at lunch! I imagine it would be even more memorable in the evening. But you will need to book in advance - it is incredibly popular, and will be even more so as the word spreads.

There are a couple of reviews on the Universal Resorts Board and I think the Trip report board. They had a few problems in the beginning - to be expected - but most recent comments have been very favorable. I can't wait to try it - 3 weeks from tonight is my ressie!

Thanks for both of your responses. I went ahead and made lunch reservations.

I looked through the first few pages of the Resort board and didn't find anything that looked like it may talk about Tchoup chop. The search function is not working. I may try to read through a couple of trip reports.

I'd like to hear more information. I am getting really excited now. I was going to keep the reservations a surprise, but I may burst!

My DS and his GF are dining at Tchoup Chop tonight. They could only get 9:00pm but are thrilled to get a PS. I will post after they return from Orlando!

Any reason why, when making ressies at Tchoup chop, it wasn't necessary for them to give me a confirmation number. I'm a little nervous that when we show up they won't have us down.

Reservation # is not needed. Just leaving my name was enough, and I reserved weeks in advance (for dinner). When I called the day of the reservation to confirm, they had my name. We ate at the food bar - 5 course special "daily" dinner prepared for you by the head chef right infront of you. Everything is explained as it is cooked. That night we had sushi to start. it was an added bonus as it was not on the "menu". From there, we had steamed lobster salad with micro greens and a two tomato vinaigrette dressing and sesame crackers. Next course was a seared pompano with ginger bbq shrimp and roasted sweet potatoes. Next was a teppanyaki seared yellow-fin tuna with coconut lemongrass sauce, papaya serrano salsa and steamed rice. Then, a teppanyaki seared lamb chop with chorizo potato hash, ancho bbq glaze and asian pesto drizzle. For desert, we had Bailey's white chocolate mousse with chicory coffee syrup and a cocoa dusted cracker. The ambiance, the food, the "show", the drinks (specialty pacific rim type) were all fabulous. And the price - $50 per person, not counting drinks, was awesome. I will go back next trip for sure.

I made a dinner reservation a month or so ago at Emeril's Restaurant Orlando at Universal City Walk. Are we talking about the same restaurant? Did they change the name to Choup chop? I hope I'm not reserved at the wrong place.

When you sit at the food bar, do you have some choice in the food items, or is it what the chef decides?

Emeril's now also has a restaurant called Tchoup chop located at the Royal Pacific hotel. The one at Citywalk is still there as far as I know.

When I made a reservation a month ago, I had the Emeril's Orlando phone no. & called that number. I really wanted the Choup chop - now there's nothing available for 5/17.

I'm wondering if there is anything they can do for me? I guess the other Emeril's would be good also.

The food bar is a pre-set menu. The chef decides that day what he is making. You can call the restaurant around 3pm that day to find out what's on the menu for that night. I was told that if I didnt like the menu choices, i could move to a regular menu table.

Just made reservations for June 26 at Tchoup, choup and can't wait! We made it for 8pm so we have time at the parks and even time to swim at HRH after. It looks beautiful and hope the food is as good as some have described.

treloarf - You have to confirm your reservation by 3:00 that afternoon or you lose it. You might want to go by there or call at 3:01 and see if they have any cancellations!
