Tell me about split stays please!

I just tried to add a day onto my trip and was told that by doing so, I'd lose the AAA discount I have in place. How hard is it to do a split stay and keep the same room? Can I get the MYW tickets for my trip before checking in on the AAA discount reservation?

What hassles am I setting myself up for if I want to add a day at the beginning of my trip?

Well - if you dont mind not getting the tickets - no big deal. Do DtD or something else.

Many times (at least in my experience) both adding days before and after my pre-existing reservation still kept me in the same room. I only had to go down to the front and check back in.

Seems like a lot of people split stays at WDW resorts. I'm sure the resorts are used to it and will make it as easy as possible for you.

Youre not adding any problems. We split our reservation once because of a rate change. We had to go check out and back in on that morning, but we didn't have to move or anything.
