Tell me about Shutters

We have decided to stay at CBR this trip. I haven't ever really heard much about Shutters. Tell me about it the good, bad, and hopefully WONDERFUL!!!

We will never go back...We ate there before it was Shutters and after it became Shutters and both times the food was awful and the service abysmal

We ate there 2 times on my first stay at CBR - we loved it. Food was good, service (cleaning the empty tables next to us) was a little slow, but would do it again. Only really HUGE disappointment was Boatwrights at POR - that was horrible. We often go to the other resorts to eat as most have very good restaurants.

We were there May '09 and hit the big days-long rainstorms. Had reservations at EPCOT (France.) There was NO way we could have gotten there in the heavy rain so we had to cancel. We were staying at Shutters and they had plenty of openings (should have been my first clue.)

Food was just yucky. I would have been happier with a frozen tv dinner. Even the kids meals were nasty.

Don't do it.

Wow I guess you all missed the FABULOUS part of my post...LOL. I guess we may or may not try it. You never really know until you try it yourself.

There is also a podcast on here that gives it very bad reviews. We will be there in a couple of weeks and don't plan on eating there.

I have eaten there and it is fine, you have to understand caribbean food though, the spices etc... I love the Tres leches dessert!! Yummy. The main courses were nothing to celebrate, but they were not horrible, just had the caribbean flare. I used to go to Jamica on my annual trip (6x) before having DD and I get the flavoring as I liked to take a risk and eat local when we were there at least a few meals. The shrimp fritters and the black bean soup is good at shutters as well.
It is not my fist pick but doesn't deserve the rap it getsin my opinion. I will also add last year we went and it was the best service we received all week, better then signature rest. service that week.

We were just there this past May and stayed at CBR so we decided to eat at Shutters one night. I heard VERY mixed reviews before we went, so I wasn't expecting too much.

We were pleasantly surprised by our meal. Both DH and I ordered the steak and it was very good.

Both my kids ordered the pizza and both hated it. ( I must say, I tried a bite and thought it was not very good myself)

I definately would not go out of my way to eat there, but if you are hanging at the hotel one night and need a place for dinner, then I would definately eat there....

We just came back 1 month ago, stayed at CBR. and ate at Shutters twice. We were all very pleasantly surprised how good the food was, and how courteous and polite the staff were, on the first adr we made there. Went back as a walk-up on our last night to get more of a good thing.
