Hello! I can't find much info or discussion on here on restaurant marrakesh but I have a reservation there for our trip in june. I'm the "planner" of our groups so I just like to know what we're getting ourselves into! There's 3 adults going and we all got to pick 2 restaurants and my friend picked this one. I looked up the reviews and they are either awesome or awful...so tell me about restaurant marrakesh!

Our other reservations are:

Hoop de Doo Revue
Le Cellier
Narcoose's
Ohana
Rainforest Cafe

Thanks!!!! and have a magical day!!!:wizard:

I enjoy Marrakesh, but it is definitely Morrocan food "dumbed down" for the middle American palate. If you are familiar with Morrocan food, or you like spicy, you will probably be disappointed. My boyfriend does not like sweet-and-savory, so the meat dishes dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar were off-putting for him.

I was pleasantly surprised! We were there for the first time in December. I'm glad we went. The flavors were a little different, but very good. I would go back again. There is a neat vibe inside the restaurant

We like it very much. We go nearly every year.
It is a beautiful restaurant with a quieter vibe. We have found the servers to be warm and friendly. The food is excellent, and the Belly Dancer and Band are fun.
Enjoy!

It's been a while since I've been, but it was fun, the food was good, although the price was a little high for the food. The entertainment is unique, though, at WDW, and the setting is really nice.

It's Disney, so prices are always "a little high."

It's a fun place, and decent enough food. It was better years ago (what wasn't ;) )but is still ok now.

The entertainment is fun, and kids are encouraged to participate.

Of those you have listed, this is actually the best choice.

Well, sure. I was assuming a standard of comparison for prices with other Disney restaurants. Of course you can get food cheaper off-property.

I think we agree in principle about the restaurant, though.

My DS & I really enjoyed it, but we are the adventurous two in the family. My DH didn't care for it. Like DrGaellon's BF, he thought all his food tasted like dessert. We were seated in the very back corner on the left side, so we were really too far away to enjoy the entertainment. It was almost like they forgot those of us in the back were there. We were pretty much ignored. That wasn't a big deal for us. I just say that to warn you not to go purely for the entertainment. I would return for the food though.

It wasn't that good. I don't have high expectations, but they could have done better. It's not cheap either.
you can't sit behind the pillars. if you do, you can't see the bellydancers, if you like that kind of thing.

thanks for all your opinions!! It seems promising and now I know my expectations! I'm excited for them all now! We're doing the dining plan, we had a pin so it's discounted and I'm a fan of the ddp in general because it's prepaid and you don't have to worry about the price on the menus when you're there and can just relax and vacay. Thanks again! You guys are all great!!

It's a fun experience and a hidden secret of World Showcase. It definitely isn't as flavorful as "real" Middle Eastern food but I've never had any complaints when we've gone -- and I once went with a very picky eater. Definitely recommend the couscous dishes!

I'm a picky eater, and I loved this restaurant. I have been taking belly dance lessons for about 3years, and loved watching the dancer she was fabulous.
The atmosphere was great, entertainment wonderful, and our server was great too! I think I got the chicken and from what I remember it was delicious!
One of the highlights of our trip. But everyone's different and if you don't care for middle eastern ways, it may not be for you.
