Hi,

I've been reading good things about Ohana's on the boards. I haven't been to restaurants at the Poly in a long time. Just a few questions re Ohanas if you can help..

I'm going 1st week of Sept. My son will almost be 2 then.
Thinking og getting DDP.

In your opinion, which is better food wise - Breakfast or Dinner?

Are there other characters at breakfast besides Lilo & Stitch?

I read the dinner menu and the appetizers and main meats look good. Do they serve any side dishes with the skewers of meats - like vegetables or something?

It sounds like a fun restaurant for kids - is that so?
If you could go to 2 of these 3 restaurants for dinner - which 2 would you choose?:
Chef Mickeys
Whispering Canyon
Ohanas

Any comments or input will be appreciated.

Thanks!
Wendybird

We ate at Ohana for dinner on Jan 30 - I read that the menu has changed a little since then. But we had several types of meat - beef, pork, turkey, shrimp, vegetables, a potato dish that was wonderful! there were appetizers like wings and shrimp.

It was a lot of fun for the kids - they do dances and sing songs and coconut races around the restaurant periodically. We really enjoyed it and will be going back during our next trip.

(I haven't eaten at the other places you mentioned)

We have done Ohana for breakfast -the food was great and plentiful. Pluto and Mickey are there along with Lilo and Stitch.

Chef Mickey's is a buffet, and of course, you get characters. Whispering Canyon is far superior food,in my opinion, and it's a LOT of fun... but there are no characters there.

We had dinner there on FEB 13th. It was a great meal and great fun. The kids had a great time doing the coconut races etc. It was really entertaining for us to watch as well.

The meats were pork, turkey, steak, shrimp. These were on the skewers. They came with 3 different dipping sauces. It was all very very good. Shrimp was outstanding.
The side dishes were some sort of potato dish and a broccoli dish. Hate to say that from the appetizers and the meats we didnt really have any of the side dishes. There were only 2 of us and its Alot of food.
The appetizers were some sort of honey bbq chicken wings--really good
Im not sure what they called the other appetizer, but it was like a potsticker which was also very very good.

The desert---yummy. We did finish this off..:)

We've added this as a must do for upcoming trips. It was fantastic

We love going to 'Ohanas for dinner. Our kids love that they can get chicken strips or mac and cheese while we get the usual offerings. The kids also love doing the coconut race and other activities they have during the meal.
