Thinking about going to Ohana's during our Dec trip.

How is the food? I am not a fan of exotic foods... are they pretty basic? Do the potatoes have onions in them? What about the atmosphere? I heard it is really fun for the kids.... Should we do this and why?!?! :confused3

We went for the first time last September and loved it. The food is relatively basic as the pork sausage, smoked turkey, and beef are just grilled with no heavy spices. There are spicy wings and sauteed shrimp that they bring for appetizers. The potatoes are just cheesy, as far as I can remember. The dessert, however, is worth the reservation. Bread pudding with bananas Foster sauce... I am not a big bread pudding or banana fan, but I don't think I have ever tasted a dessert this good. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

As far as the fun for kids part... definitely. They get to get up and form a train around the room and sing, play instruments, do games, etc. Plus the whole Poly atmosphere is just terrific. We are most likely going back this Sept. and will definitely go to O'Hana again.

It's great for dinner or breakfast, Go and you will enjoy it there.

Scalloped potatoes are no longer served (a noodle dish is being served instead), and the shrimp are back on skewers (replacing the pork sausage).

We ate at 'Ohanna last week. My dining reviews have lots of pics including the new noodle dish and shrimp skewers. Last week there were fewer activities for the kids but that may have just been the day/time (they did still do the coconut race). I agree with the PP - the poly is a fun place to visit. I would not consider the food exotic - the shrimp, beef, pork, and turkey are grilled. You add the sauce if you wish.
