I'm wondering about Ohana for dinner. Is the food served family style? It seems to be a fixed menu, right? Do you share tables with other diners , and what is the entertainment listed? Thanks for any info :)

Dinner is served family style. They serve salad an appetizer and then walk around with skewers of meat.
The entertainment was a singer who sang Hawaiian music and had the kids involved in a mini parade.
Our experience was terrible and we will never return. The guy who served us had a cold and kept wiping snot on his arm and hand and continued to serve. I tried calling the manager later that night to express concern and had to leave a message and never got a call back. I'm sorry but paying over $100 for 3 people I felt as if we were rushed in and out had terrible service.
Hope yours is better!

Ohana was one of our favorite meals!
They bring salads, bread, wings and awesome potstickers. Then they brought veggies, noodles(not that great) and various meats(steak, chicken and shrimp) on skewers. For dessert they a heavenly bread pudding- one of the best things I have ever eaten!

Absolutely recommend!

We love Ohana & it is a must every trip.

We have been there 3 times and each visit has been excellent. The food is served family-style. The bread pudding for dessert is great---I think my DH ate the entire serving himself and we had to request more :)

I think you will really enjoy your experience, we've never been disappointed.

We love 'Ohana and have always had a fantastic time there.

You sit at a table just with your family/party.

The food is brought to you table in large portions that you dish out, family-style.

We were served:
bread
salad
wings
potstickers
veggies
noodles
turkey, steak, pork, shrimp on skewers
bread pudding with bananas foster sauce (the most amazing dessert anywhere in WDW!!!)

This is a HUGE meal, with plenty of choices.

The entertainment is mostly games and activities for the kids, like hula dancing, coconut races, and dancing around the room.

Hope this helps!:goodvibes

They walk around with skewers of meat.
Having never been, I am curious as to how they remove meat from the skewers onto each guests plate - do they rest the tips of the skewer on each guests plate or plop it from a distance above, or...?:confused3

Our server asked us if we wanted some then proceeded to take a serving fork and push the meat off the skewer onto our plates from above. The skewer never touched my plate.

When we ate there this past April, they had a small plate placed under the end of the skewers. They then pulled the meat onto that plated, then used the serving fork to push the meat onto our plates. It was very sanitary and nothing ever touched our plates except the meat. Being the germ phobe that I am, I was impressed.:thumbsup2

"Heard02" I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience with Ohana. That is terrible!!! We love Ohana and it is a must for us as well. If you go on a night when there are fireworks at the MK, you can see it from the windows and they sometimes might pipe the music in to the restaurant. The food is really yummy and there is a lot! Its all you can eat. The servers come around and serve you like others have said. The entertainment is okay, but we aren't really there for that.

We ate at Ohana's four times during our trip in August (2 breakfasts & 2 dinners). The dinners were fantastic....make sure you bring your appetite as there is a lot of food. Make sure you try the Sticky Wings....they are absolutely fantastic.

Thanks so much for clearing that up for me, I wondered how they prevented transport of microscopic critters from plate to plate! :lmao:

Please look elsewhere. I know people rave about this place. I really don't get it. The food is just ok, nothing special. The meat is not good at all, it is either dry, fatty or mushy (shrimp). Ever time you blink they bring out another plate. I was so disappointed in this meal. To top it off we were in another area of the restaurant and didn't get a view of the castle. I really hated it! It was our first night at Disney, what a way to start our vacation. Luckily it was the worst part of our trip, that is to say we had a great week.

We love O'hana! There is plenty of food and ours is always great! I struggled to get an ADR for our upcoming trip, but was finally able to book, but I had to be super flexible and take a very late seating. I can't wait! Let us know what you think!
